The best ski movie is...............and why

Apparently the massive is CRAZY. Just what some buds told me. Claim was sick though. Most people on here complain that it was too freeride oriented, but so am I, so I loved it. Hjor kills it so hard. Good to see Hugo ripping again. Hopefully next season he will return to his previous form.

So far I've seen Claim, Turbo and Under the Influence.

My ratings go as follows:

1. Claim-Everything was done so well. The shots/angles were amazing, Amba's pillow lines gave me hard-ons and so did Hjor's big mtn. lines.

2. Under the Influence-Sage fucking kills it. Gnarliest lines ever. That new boarder they have, Gigi or something kills it as well.

3. Turbo-Amazing urban shots but everything else felt really repetitive

TURBO - flow, music, extremely well rounded, not boring, bangers forsure, non serious voice overs, nice cinematography, tons of bonus.......

i dont like the music that much, it was ok. the alaska seg mas boring as fuck, like almost falling asleep boring. and as for flow, best segments are all at the beginning...

the no question, hands down best movie is That's It, That's All. seriously, doesn't matter if it's snowboarding, it blows away anything ever made, buy it, watch it, and be satisfied with your purchase.

i havnt seen too many ski movies but i enjoyed believe alot, i also want to see under the influence it looks pretty good

Claim was a horrible movie. Shouldn't have used the quote greatest ski movie ever. Really bad. It was sick skiing and all but just got repetative
Massive probably is the best cause it has every type of skiing in it. Sick music. Not one bad song or part.

1242 hands down!! That movie was legit. Every single section is dope and worth watching every time you watch the movie. No comparison to 1242

turbo. best movie i have ever seen. has such a great variety of skiing. soundtrack was epic, the movie just had such a great feel.

TBC was filthy as fuck. probably my favorite ski movie

1242 was like a milestone for its time.

ski movie 3 was ill save some like 2 gay segments, but otherwise it was killer

apsen extreme, it has all the drama you need, and all the soul. really.it gets to you

claim sucked. most of the recent msp movies are bland.

the massive was good, but i think believe was better (but the massive probably had the most watcher-friendly big mountain in any movie ive seen)

and yea

Seven Sunny Days is my favorite because of the helmet cam filming. So sick.

Skimatic is a close second just because of my memories watching it and having a good time.

HEAD FOR THE HILLS!!! I left the premier last night not knowing what just happened. Literally, buy this movie. I can't even put my stoke into words, just do yourself a favor and check it out...

This year? I honestly loved reasons, but i havent seen turbo yet.

Ever? TBC would probably it. Although High 5 would be a close second

sorry, claim sucked. MSP usually makes my favorite movies, but this year not so much. SSD was the best MSP movie in the past 5 years but they dropped off hard this year, epic skiing yes, but lots of weak stuff and lifestyle filler. Turbo FTW.

I've seen all the "pro" movies except such is life, and my favorite was def Journal.

It had the perfect combination of every type of skiing, the segs were all dope, the soundtrack was wicked.

The thing with turbo is, the urban, park - that stuff was nuts. But the AK segment put my friend to sleep. No seriously, he fell asleep in the theater. And that's probably why i would not buy it. A movie that can be described as "the best", i should be able to watch it from end to end without having to say "oh, this part is boring *skip*" Don't get me wrong, there was more then a far share of "what in the fuck...."

Claim was the same as all the other MSP movies, too long. It was good, just the same as always, nothing new really except that guy with the parachute thing, that was nuts.

Massive was redic, i especially was surprised with Callum's performance. Just the useless cut scenes really took away from the skiing, for me anyways. WIthout the talking, checking the weather etc, it would have been my fav.

i'm not going to pick best ski movie for the rest of you, because that would be ridiculous considering everyone's opinions differ, but right now my personal favourite is Reasons. Such Is Life is on it's way though, it might change my opinion. oh and please don't try to argue with me about Reasons, i liked it and your opinion of it isn't going to change mine.

I second THATS IT, THATS ALL. Seriously the name says it all. That got me more stoked to ski than any ski movie out there. I watched it back to back with the massive and the massive didnt even come close. Sick skiing yes, but like you guys said, little acting sections are lame/boring. Also i dont care how sick Cali P is, i dont want to hear an entire soundtrack to a movie from one artist. Variety is good! UTI i thought was ok but didnt live up to previous TGR movies, the segments just werent as good (sages was the exception) and music IMO was not the best for getting stoked.

Has anyone seen journal yet? I know it cant possibly live up to the hype of the trailer, since that trailer (with the snowflakes song) is the sickest thing i have ever ever seen. Music, riding, editing, just unreal.

haha, gigi isnt necessarily a new boarder...for the tgr group yeah, but hes been SLAYING shit for years and years
