The best ski edit ever Shane McConkey in Deeps segment.

Had tears in my eyes the whole time but I definitely lost it when he was with his family. Thanks for being such a huge influence on us all Shane. RIP. Still can't believe it.

Awesome tribute. I met Shane at the first Red Bull Huckfest at Snowbird about 10 years ago when I was 14-15yrs old. He was having lunch with Szocs, Shimo, The Phils, etc. I was outside just peaking in to see these guys and he saw me and brought me inside to chill with them for a bit. He got everyone else to sign autographs and he gave me my first Red Bull. He just sat and talked with me for a while. That's the only time I've ever talked to him but it felt like he didn't care who you were he was a friend to everyone. I'll never forget that day. Long live Shane McConkey!!!

the man who lived up to and exceeded his reputation. the man who didn't just open doors, but kicked down walls and blew up the roof, exploding our sport into the stratosphere. in one sense, its fitting that he kicked it in his pursuit of more...the legend of Shane is destined to push us all ahead, and guide skiing in to the future.

to the man who changed my life, Shane, thank you for being with us over these exhilarating years. to watch you was to have a finger on skiing's jugular, to feel our sport rush forward. the flame of Shane McConkey burns in us all, fueling our thirst for everything that he has come to represent. Shane will never die.

As much as I want to watch this right now, I'm getting my copy of In Deep in the mail soon and refuse to ruin it for myself. So for now, I'll just say that Shane is my idol and that I, along with the rest of the ski community, miss him dearly.

I didn't even think it was possible to ski that chute in the first part, holy shit. If you fall you'll probably fall off the mountain. He seems like such an awesome person. For some reason I don't see him resting in peace, but rather jumping of cliffs and doing insane stuff like that forever, so rest in whatever that is.

Wow. I've watched this segment a million times and it gives me mad goosebumps every time. Shane was such an amazing person and sometimes when I see a segment of his its truly hard to believe he's actually gone. RIP

that pretty much sums up McConkey...that guys a fucking legend and we all owe a lot to him

RIP SHANE, we all miss you
