it is amazing to think of the heritage that goes into something like this place. When a car brand is this serious about preserving its roots, you know you have a winner.

 
Pretty awesome, but you have to check out Toyota city man.....you want heritage. Japan is nuts!!
 
if Aston was really true to their roots, they wouldn't have made the Cygnet. yes, I know they made it because of emissions regulations, but what would have been the problem with a six cylinder sedan? the Cygnet is a disgrace
 
That being said Aston Martin produces, imo, one of the 3 best looking cars ever made. They are an amazing company with an incredible heritage, it's just sad to see a company like Ford buy them out and "steal" their design so they can saturate the market with it. I'm an American but I can say that the Aston Martin brand is such a "dashing" looking car manufacturer and it's sad to see Ford ruin it...
 
Aston has a certain charm about the brand, they are not the fastest of the super car bunch but without a doubt the classiest and perhaps the best looking.

The brand has been around over 100 years which is staggering on its own merit.

Their heritage shop/trust is un-rivaled compared to their other supercar opponents. Ferrari is too stuck up on their image to ever consider modifying their classic cars on request for customers, and lamborghini has been more about shock and wow factor than heritage and customer satisfaction for the majority of its life.

Aston is not owned by ford anymore, they are privately owned at this point with small investments from other companies. In the past week Mercedes has let it slip that they intend to purchase Aston which could be a good thing if they allow Aston to work independent in concerns to their line ups but would bring in Mercs production guidelines to spruce up the company. Look at how VAG has propped up Bentley since they were purchased by the VAG group.
 
In order for them to continue the use of v12's , I am ok with them offering a shitty little city car. I am sure if the war on emission was not so hard to beat, they would not have ever considered making the cygnet.

But even with that being said, they still take the same car when creating the cygnet and it is still hand made in Gaydon right along side the vantages.... not like the mass produced Toyota IQ.

Atleast when Aston makes a shitty car to beat emissions penalties, they still take the same car they would with a vantage.

 
Whether or not Ford owned Aston they continue to model their futures cars of Astons' design. This saturates the market with "Aston looking vehicles" and imo lowers their uniqueness and worth. Even no longer being owned by Ford, the fusion is a constant reminder that Ford has "been there, done that". There is absolutely no denying that...
 
This is such a dumb statement, yet SO many people mention it. I get where your'e coming from, and obviously you see a lot more Ford Fusions on the road than AMs, but when you actually do see one cruising down the road, it has a crazy amount of road presence. There really is no comparison. Yes, the Fusion and other Fords have similar styling cues, but to say AM is losing uniqueness, prestige, or worth because of some $30,000 Ford sedans, you must be living on Mars.
 
You realize that Porsche makes a cayenne, right? Porsche is also part of an ownership group that can circumvent the fleet wide emissions regulations because they are " low volume" so they can be considered part of the VAG group fleet as a whole and have the benefits of TDI jettas and blue motion polo's.... not to mention the fact there is a diesel cayenne out right now.

Aston is not part of an ownership group so they cant just sneak under another car makers fleet to escape emission laws, hence why the cygnet was created. Aston will never admit this as it would be an admit of abusing the law, but it is quite widely accepted this is the case.
