The best moments in ski movie history?

Well maybe if you weren't fucking retarded, you'd notice it's all shit about park skiing which TGR movies include. That doesn't mean they memorized or even remembered the shit they didn't understand at the time, a.k.a. big mountain skiing.

Just cuz I'm on an NS thread instead of TGR doesn't mean I am solely required to post about park moments and am forbidden from anything else. OP said best moments in ski movie history and gave the example McConkey base jumping the eiger. That was a progression on big mtn skiing if there ever was one. Just like Nobis. Just because he doesn't huck a double in his line doesn't mean I should shut up and keep it to myself. What he did on Pyramid changed the way skiers look at lines. Period.

Holy shit you're on another level of stupidity. You haven't developed any reading comprehension skills, have you?

Why are you being such a dumb cunt? The OP wasn't best newschool/park/jib moments...It was best MOMENTS.

This so much.

OP here. I love to see crazy skiing regardless where it happens. The word MOMENTS in the title is there for a reason. Not looking for one but many.

What I hoped for in this thread:

As many crazy moments as possible for us all to get stoked on. Either stuff that we all heard about or overlooked moments in vids that we forgot about a long time ago. It seems to work. Love the response.

Didn't ask for the best singular moment. Didn't want to divide stuff into categories (there are award shows for that). Just wanted to be reminded of some sick skiing to possibly create a tight little edit with the seven or so best minutes on snow ever. No barriers.

More is more. So – please – keep them coming!

Oh look another dumbass that cannot comprehend what I initially posted! This is so shocking. It's almost like finding someone who doesn't know what a certain big mountain line is on a site that's mostly compromised of park skiers!

Nothing takes it back like the old days. Iconic shots from JF, JP, Vinne, Philous in when 13 came out. Any of those shots became etched in my mind; Candide the year he got his Dynastar pro model.

Honourable mentions: Jacob Webster's hip jump in War, Tanner breaking his Ankles, Any of McConkey's segment, Jeff Holden 100+ cliff back in 1999 somewhere on Spanky's ladder was also off the meat rack.

Oh yes because that's exactly what I posted... no wonder the ski industry is so fucked up with idiots like you behind the scenes pulling strings.

"OMG you made a comment that kids on a mainly park-dominated ski site won't know a specific big mountain line??? FUCK YOU FOR HATING BIG MOUNTAIN! THAT'S A PART OF SKIING! HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT I CANNOT POST OUT AN EPIC BIG MOUNTAIN LINE THAT HAPPENED YEARS AGO!!!"

That's what all you retards sound like. Enjoy it, you fucking retards.

I never sounded like that, not sure what you're smoking. But honestly, just shut up, because no one wants to hear all of your complaints. Whether it is park, big mountain, or even competitive ski touring for all care, skiing is skiing. We are all trying to share our favorite ski movie moments and you are acting like a bitch.

Skiierman, you fucking retarded shit stain, there were hardly any references to moments that happened in a park previous to your post. Are you a fucking failure at life because you can't count? Is being a failure at life what causes you to act like an ignorant cunt on the Internet? you insecure little child.

"the loop" is the real moment, but watching Propaganda as a 16 year old kid made this whole movie feel like one epic moment

Peps segment is really really big imo.

And i think Idea is the single greatest ski movie ever made and its not even close.

Also, Andy Mahre has has had a few segments (War, Ski Porn, Idea) that really had some groundbreaking stuff in them. His final shot in either War or Ski porn was a line skied completely sw that had a fairly large cliff drop.

Andy and pep's edit from park city will always be a great too.

pretty much any Candide shot from the superpark era. (corks onto rails, the first Big Bertha jump)

and any of the numerous 120+ foot airs he's tossed over the years

As you say – unreal.Would love to watch Wilson in any comp featuring a big ass kicker, such as JOI or Nine Knights or – if we will ever experience it again – in a film comp like JOSS.

2:03 into your clip from "Push". Gnnnhh… I suppose it could go next to insane in any dictionary.

These are all great but I think that Tanner's seg in Happy Dayz gets way too overlooked. That is when his style really started to come through.

SW450 FS270 @0:11 was so far ahead of its time and pushed so much new shit on rails. Before this trick I hardly ever even seen a 270 onto a rail...

Think it might have been from Focused. I remember watching it at a premier and everyone going nuts. Still gives me the chills when I see it. It was in Superheroes of Stoke.

the one under that bridge? that shot came to mind for me too.

ive gotta say seth's massive backflip

I miss TSP so much. Come Find Us is why I got into skiing. It's also what made me start wanting to go to college in Bozeman. It's amazing how much of an effect a ski movie has had on my life.
