The best glidecam

I've been looking at the Glidecam HD-1000 pro and the DSLR FLycam Nano, I found both for under $200 which seems pretty reasonable but idk if they're any good. +k for helpful answers!

Obviously glidecam... but anyways. What camera do you have, make sure it is in the weight limit of those 2 stabilizers.

ive also been looking into purchasing my first glidecam, and the flycam nano dslr is right in my price range and seems like a quality product. where did you find the glidecam though? those are better quality and work a little better (much easier to balance). send me a link?

Yea probably compared to the glidecam, but it seems like a good starter steadycam.

I looked up a vid and the nano can hold a t2i with the tokina 11-16 which is a tank of a lens so i think itll be fine.

saw that too, and the test footy looked pretty nice. Skiing is also a lot smoother than running or walking too, IMO. I think that a flycam nano will sell pretty quickly in america too because a lot of the ones you find online have to ship overseas.

yeah I have a flycam nano and if you can find a glidecam buy a glidecam the extra money is worth it. My flycam works just as well as a glidecam would work but I know that I will eventually upgrade to a glidecam

ive got $500 to spend and need new skis and want a steadycam, im looking into the flycam cause it seems to produce good steady images for a cheap price that way i can get new skis too, then ill upgrade nxt summer when i go back to work...thats the plan at least.

Hey all you people who own glidecams and flycams and all, I've heard in reviews of them that holding glidecams all day is a major strain on the wrist. did you guys find this true?They said ones like the merlin or this opteka thing (http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-SteadyVid-Stabilizer-Camcorders-Supports/dp/B007FDE4Y8/ref=pd_cp_p_1) are much easier to hold without strain on the arms.

get the skis then see what u have left then consider stuff

also can the hd 1000 hold the t2i+ tamron 17-50+ rode videomic or rode videomic pro with the deadcat?

Rigs like that are only really used when your filming for hours at a time with no real break, which is not something that usually occurs in skiing. Honestly its just a waste of money, you're much better off just using it, you'll become accustomed to the weight of it pretty quickly.

obviously if you hold something mostly with one arm for > 2 min its gonna get sore. But, with skiing, you get to rest alot so its nbd

what evan said...eventually you will get tired holding something for a while. and honestly the merlin is going to be no different. you are still supporting the weight of your camera and accessories with one arm anyway. and i have seen and messed with the merlin a little bit, it is a bitch to try and control, and if its not balanced perfectly, good luck getting smooth shots. doesn't compare to my glidecam at all imo. much more control and possibilities with the gc
