the bindings that are possible for buying (which is under $170) are

look:

nova 10 ($99)

px12 ($169)

rossingal:

scratch 120 ($169)

solomo:

s810 b80 ti a+ ($159)

of those, id buy rossignol scratch 120s. you likely will break the other ones fairly quickly. The px12 I'm not sure about though. They've changed the technology (and gotten rid of of the pivoting heel) and as far as i know, the scratches remain the same as last year.

if im wrong, hopefully someone will correct me.

so heres the deal

look:

nova 10 ($99) these bindings are good for beginners and intermediates, and certainly nothing freeride oriented. do not get these bindings!!

px12 ($169) new heel design. has more forward pressure and downward pressure than the old pivots. still have large amounts of elastic motion, which is great for freeride/park. great binding. you could probably find a p12 (pivot heel) from prior years for less money. search around.

rossingal:

scratch 120 ($169) exact same as the px12 (unless the model of px12 is with a lifter, which this one does not have). cant go wrong with either. once again, you could probably find last years binding (excellent as well) for less money.

solomo:

s810 b80 ti a+ ($159) intermediatish-avanced binding. toepiece is adjustable, which is great, but also bad. it is a hassle to adjust when it losens up. not as good as look/rossi

in conclusion, look or rossi is the ideal choice
