This is got to be one of the funniest threads I have read in a while. If the Atomic binding is so awesome why did Rex come on here a few weeks ago and say that all atomic freeride skis will be sold with salomon bindings for 06-07.

1. Atomic was the first, that was the point. Under the name ess it was first
2.Rossi bindings are made by Look, so rossi doesn't really have a binding, you should compare to the Look that was around before rossi had their names on them. Atomic do not prerealease like Look bindings. The Look bindings axial system is effected by major viberations
3.The pilot came out at least 3 years after...
4.You are correct, mine have 9 screws and cannot be interchanged

6.The atomic binding can change a great deal in size. Much more so then any other binding, as both the heel and toe move forward and back, basically doubling any other binding
7.Line is evolving the binding with the heel release. But the Atomic was equally revolutionary, and was immediatly the standard and the model of what a binding should be. The line is still not known for being durable, widely used or of good quality...
8.The AFT uses the Look bindings in the park, same as your loved rossi skiers. The bindings are the exact same. However, the Big Daddies still have the atomic binding, as they handle high impact and do not pre-release. The higher weight doesn't really effect a true big mountian skier.

integrated ski and binding systems suck, i dont know why you guys want to give someone credit for it. if anything, atomic sucks for coming up with that god awful idea. and if people want to argue atomic's bindings as being best, please dont bring the ess var bindings into this. they were heavy as shit, hunks of plastic that looked like hell on your ski. plus atomic changed the name when they bought out ess, not when they suddenly decided that itd be smarter to use their name. so yea, maybe they did first come up with the binding/ski interface, but it sucked and still does.

1. No it wasn't the point he said that they were superior BECAUSE they allowed the binding to flex underfoot. Not because they were first. Being first to do something doesn't always mean you were the best anyway. Look at the Reactor for proof. Better bindings will come along.

If you want to be very technical the two bindings are identical but since Look was a subcorp of Rossignol, they are in fact manufactured by the old Rossignol corporation or to be more accurate, Quicksilver owns them all now. Should we call them quicksilver bindings? Would that work for you genius? Stick to the point of the conversation not technicalities. Those aren't going to win your sorry argument.

7. Ok. That was 8-10 years ago as has been stated. How does that make the binding superior and revolutionary today...8-10 years later? It doesn't and there are better bindings out there now. Line has a miniscule budget and came up with a revolutionary concept. A concept that is revolutionary today in 2005 not 1995. If they had the R&D budget of other corporations they may have gotten it right. We will never know.
