Pretty sure that's been a thing for a while now, it's just the front row spots with the picnic tables, the rest is still first come first serve as far as I know

Yeah been this way for years now. You can still tailgate wherever and the spots closest to pali are free.

Can confirm that the beach is alive and well. They might not be burning couches there anymore, but it's still a rowdy time. Just get 2 cars full of friends and split the cost.
