My question is between The Art Institute of Seattle and Cornish College of the Arts, which is the better of the two for Graphic Design?

fyi seattle central has killer gd, photo, pub arts programs. and you only pay community college tuition...30K less than AIS...something to thinka bout

it's a 2 year program, but you could follow up at like Western Washington Univ. in Bellingham and do a upside down degree that gives you a BA but you basically design the second two years, so you could do a focus on arts/music/science/business/marketing/etc so that you can learn specifically what you need to do well in the GD industry.

Go to Cornish. Seattle has enough artist wannabe hipster dbags as is without an Art Institute that has a TV commercial.

Do you know anybody who has gone to Cornish?

And I'm not a "artist wannabe hipster dbag", I'm someone with a passion for graphic design and want to pursue a career that I'll love instead of dread for the rest of my life.

if what you say you want is true, quit bumping and look into seattle central comm college. you will save a shitload in tuition by doing 2 years there, the programs include a portion that counts towards gen ed required courses, and then you can do the second 2 years focusing on whatever will help you love graphic design enough to make a career of it.

you know successful graphic designers? you know both of them?

hehehe

/assholeness i have nothing of value to contribute to this thread, other than it seems every 19 year old girl wants to study graphic design because "its like the coolest thing evar!"

They probably learn the shit they need to know to be successful in the first 2 or 3 years and get offered a job and drop out of school.

One of my best friend's girlfriends goes to Cornish. She is in the music program. But that part of the school seems pretty legit.
