well sense alot of u are red sox fans, waht do u think of this trade. i think its bull shit, becasue trading manny for arod isnt that great. sure arod is better but not alot better. red sox wont be gettin to much more in their line up with arod. but it would be good for the rangers who will finially have some money to spread around with for pitchers.

It seems like the Sox screwed the pooch again, they finally have some harmony within the team, not 26 cabs for 26 players, and they mess with it, now they are stuck with Manny who is already a few cans short of a six pack and Nomar who was loved before he broke his wrist, but now who knows how they will respond to all the rumors.

Still no one has the pitching staff of the A's, so don't count them out, I don't care if the Yanks get Sheff and Vlad, if they can't hit they can't score runs.

 
i think that arod would replace mannys bat in the order, and manny is a little unstable in the clubhouse. What they really needed this year is pitching. The bullpen was off and on. Keith Foulke is a good addition. They could also use a starting pitcher to backup Pedro, Derek Lowe, and Tim Wakefield.

well they got schilling, so theres their other starting pitcher. and i like manny but a-rod is better. he puts up mvp numbers every year, but he shouldnt have got it. i like nomar but a-rods better.

Game 1) Pedro

Game 2) Schilling

Game 3) D. Lowe

You cannot touch that shit, especially with Foulke to close it out.

Think of a 3 game set with the Yankees... with ANYBODY. The Red Sox now have, unarguably, the best triplet of pitchers on any team in baseball. Show me a better threesome. I dare you.

Dude, you guys need a chicks input on this. I think the Arod talk is an insult to Nomar but I guess who else would take Manny and his 20M a year deal. He's going to stay in Texas and they're going to have the best young infield (Arod, Texiera, Young, Blalock), they just need o work on that pitching. Bosoxs look lights out now with Schilling, Pedro, Lowe and closer Foulke. The dude who talks about the A's pitching stuff, I agree with him. I mean,they're young and hella good. Hudson is the underrated one, everyone knows about Zito's curve, and Mulder is a workhorse (5 consecutive complete games) . They may not have all the accolades of the BOsox's three, but they're young, give them time. Throw in Harden, Mark Redman, and a possible Rheinecker after he proves himself in the farm system and the A's pitching looks as good as ever, they just need to find a damn catcher. Rhodes as closer? Balt looks like they're building up a competitive team with Javy and Tejada. Ahhh, I miss baseball...

I agree that Pedro and Schilling were two of the most dominating pitchers ever, but that was 2-3 years ago when they were in their prime, Pidro breaks down every year and it is obvious he is not the same Pedro, he would have never let that playoff game slip away a couple years ago. Schilling is a stud, but he is getting up there in age so who knows how he will pitch. On the other hand the A's staff haven't even reached their prime, Huddy is just getting into his and Zito and Mulder, even though they have already won CY young awards are still only 25 or so. Losing the incredible Foulke was rough, but I have so much confidence in Beane and it seems like closers are a dime a dozen, (ie Tim Worrell for the Giants last year) I think they'll be fine with Arthur Rhodes.

ok well i love manny but when it comes time to throw it on the table hes a lazy sack of shit. ive seen him watch more balls go over his head than at my brothers little league game. as for arod, hes the fucking mvp, what more do you want to know? sure he may not have deserved it (it was his 4th best career season, on a last place team) but i cant see him going 2 for 40 in the postseason. i like nomar, hes done alot for us but the team needs rearranging. hopefully all this works out cuz now that we have a pitching staff we are definately a good team. hopefully magglio ordonez will come our way too

 
in the book moneyball, billy beanes philosophy was that any major league pitcher should be able to be a closer. Any pitcher should be able to come into a game with a lead and no runners on. There are some people that are very good at it (gagne) but billy beane is a great gm and he doesnt think a team should waste money on a closer.
