the navy put on a concert at my school to get people to join. It was awful. I don't feel safe knowing that the people who protect me listen to fall out boy and the killers.

so why isnt that army recruiter over in iraq fighting? is it because boot camp was too hard so he dropped out and became a recruiter? yeah i think so, so shut ur fucking mouth and look at the big picture before you speak.

First off, you don't know why he's recruiting. He could have been medically discharged or a variety of other things. You have no way of knowing why he's doing what he's doing.

Did you ever think that maybe he's already done a tour of duty? Maybe he already fought and now he's recruiting because he feels the military is a good choice?

Sounds like you're making a lot of assumptions about an entire group of people...kinda like someone else in this thread.

yes i do, 95% of the time its cuz they cant handle the training and boot camp. but they have no place to go so they recruit.

im saying you ask him why he is recruiting and not in the field. many will stumble upon answering because they know its tough shit and they couldnt do it.

trust me, ive asked many recruiters this, and it really drive them away from wanting ot even try more. so they leave you alone fast after this statement.

A recruiter isn't in war? What a fine observation! Maybe he's not overseas because he's going to school, or perhaps he just got back from a tour, or even worse maybe he got injured, did that ever cross your mind?

Just to let you know, to become a recruiter you have to pass all your training and be fully qualified. Most of the time recruiters are corporals and up, meaning theyve been in for a minimum of two years, and trust me they know their shit.

I would love to see any one of the recruiters from my unit would have to hear what you have to say, they'd seriously make you look like a fool (on the other hand thats not very hard) and wish you never opened your mouth.

third i cant be in the military because of certain attributes they restrict on when allowing people into the military.

forth, sure some of those things you said might be true, but 90% of the time its not becasue of school or injury. its lack of motivation and confidence in the individual. making them become a measly recruiter.

fifth, fuck if i wanted to be in the military I would. we dont need all these people going into school trying to convence kids , yes KIDS, to become a human shield for bush. id like to see bush's 2 daughters in training and going to fight, but yeah thats not gonna happen.

i cant show you cuz it was a face to face conversation with a recruiter and i just left laughing my ass off becasue i told him exactly what i have displayed here. and he had no response to most of it

you base all your knowledge of army recruiters on one example: the sample is too small to support an inductive generalization about a population= hasty generalization.

so you met an army recruiter that was fooled by your immense wit and wisdom, and thus draw all your conclusions from that.

and it seems to me you have the "OC debate style", you said your second option would be to flick the dude off so as to not have to listen to bullshit... thats like: talk to the ahdnm cos the face aint' listening! *pouts off and slams the door*. some victory.

the military is dumb? so, having an armed force with the intention of protecting our country and our allies is dumb? tell WWII vets who helped liberate the concentration camps that the work they did was "dumb" and tell me what kind of response you get.

if we stop fighting, then the "terrorists" will stop fighting? you have no knowledge of world politics at all. the STRONGEST force we have is our economy. much of the middle east was/is pissed at us for two reasons- we strongly support Israel and we had economic sanctions against Iraq. they didn't see it as "the US has sanctions against Iraq", but rather as "the US is trying to starve and oppress Muslims." our diplomacy is horrible and even if we put together an exit strategy that got us out of Iraq in the very near future and left there with a strong government in place, the attacks would continue.

so you give people shit for putting their lives on the line for your safety? would you give a formerly-enlisted Vietnam veteran shit for doing his job? would you give a WWII vet shit for liberating Europe and helping to end Nazism? no. so why would you give someone shit who simply believes they are doing the right thing and who are willing to give their life so you can live in a secure nation? would you give the 2,000+ American men and women who have died in Iraq shit for joining the military?

you need to stop being such a little bitch and start to show some respect for these people. tomorrow is Veteran's Day- maybe you can make up for your ignorance and ungratefullness by thanking a veteran for their service.
 
I was talking with a recruiter assigned to my school from the Air Force Acadmey. He has already served his 8 year committment plus some extra time but instead of quitting he is part of the reserves. He has a job with GE and does his recruiting part for next to nothing. Now, I don't know about you, and this may not apply to everyone, but I wouldn't consider this man to be any kind of "slime," or a failure of the military.

yeah but as a recuitment officer hes representing the army, which means that if were gonna bitch at anyone about the war, were gonna do it to him. it is the same as with class reps. you tell them your trouble, and then they bring it up to the higher ranks in the student council.
