The answer to "what binding"

^ No. Din is din, if say you have a mojo 15 set to 10 this should be the same as a mojo 18 set to the same retention.

i'm about 160lbs, 6'1"... probably a type II skiier. looking above i'd probably go for a 12 din. would i want a binding that is 8-15 (rosi axial2 freeride 150) or 4-12 (salomon z12 ti). thanks

rather than create thread im just gonna ask a Q in here.

i have 2 pairs of skis to be mounted and 2 sets of bindings. the binders are rossi freeski 120 xl's and sth12s. the skis are 09 invaders and 09 rossi s5's. my question is which should go on which? im 5'8 130 lbs and in the park i hit no bigger than 30 fters and enjoy my share of rails. most days i will be riding the s5's as my everyday go everywhere ski, i will also be hitting the park occasionaly on the rossis but only for jumps, no rails. right now im leaning towards the rossis on the rossis just beacuse those are the better of the 2 bindings so they should be on the skis that i use the most.

looking fo advice...

In a week or so i'll finally get a pair of new Moment Rocker 181, so i'm trying to figure out which bindings i'm going to mount on them.

My first idea was Look/Dynastar PX 12 Jib Wide (max DIN 12): i read i can't go wrong with them.

Then, on the same online shop, i found a pair of Rossignol Scratch Axial2 140 (max DIN 14), and i'm wondering if a higher DIN binding could be better for me.

I doubt i'll set my DIN higher than 10 (i'm 5' 11", 175 lbs more or less, 325 BSL and type 3- ), so my question is:

Can i safely stick with Look PX 12 Jib (for 129 €), or should i spend more money and buy those Rossignol Axial2 140?

and on side note, which of them has an overall better release?

thanks!

Get the fks' the pivoit heal is so dope btw all dynastar and rosignal bindings are made by look the companies just payed to put their names on em

What do the screws on the back of the jesters do? an I just changed my din do i need to do something with that screw?

seriously?
ok, it adjusts the for and aft position of the binding for different boot sizes. the screw should be flush with the casing, not sticking out or sticking in. nothing to do with din.

It seems like there is a reasonable amount of variance between bindings though. Maybe it was something I did wrong, but I had my Look PX Jibs set to 9.5 and my Jesters at 9.5 and I never released out of the Jester's when I shouldn't have, but I was winding up for a 360 on the Jibs and when i popped both skis came right off. Jibs are on a park ski and jesters are on 08 Gotamas. I cranked the PX Jibs to 11.5 and they work great now. Can you think of any reason for this?

2 questions to the same end i guess

1) are the wideride binding on the volkl ac30/50 interchangable parts wise to the non volkl version((s) the jester specificly)?

2) are the springs on these ^ bindings replacable(assuming you have the know-how to do so of course) to get to a higher DIN setting(ie replace with race springs)?

i'm looking to help my brother out with equipment(the getting part anyway. he knows way more about this stuff than i do). i think the ac30 would be a great ski for him but he's used to race bindings with DIN's up to 18 or higher. really aggressive skier 6'4" 230 lbs. wanted to know if i could get the parts from a jester and swap them into the griffon (well the volkl version) system on the volkl. if that won't work then thats when the swapping of race springs into the griffon comes into play.

3) lastly it sounds like my brother will be near or over the 12 setting DIN wise (type III+ 230lbs) if replacing parts doesn't work (entire binding or just springs) will he be popping out of these set even at 12 a lot?

thanks to anyone who can help

My STH12 broke after 4 days. I was just testing my ne dumonts and then i noticed that brakes are broke. Another break was dropped and take with it some plastic from other binding. sry my bad eng

I guess ill post my question here rather than make a new thread. I am currently on line invaders with rossi scratch 11's? (they got to 11). I have them set at 7 right now and weight 135. They work fine but for my next pair of skis (Reno rocker 178) I'm planning on getting look pivots in the lowest form (14 I think but maybe 16). Would that be a good idea? I know it may be unnecissary for me to buy 350 dollar bindings but I read up on the pivot heel design and I really liked the safety reason behind it. Would this be a good fit? Or not

dont drop 350 on the new 14s, they have the crappy plastic toe that px12/14s have. buy some used 155s that are all metal on here or tgr. average price I see is 175

Word thanks. My mom actually told me to buy the safest binding possible that works good. So I kinda looked around and the FKS was like the shit apparently.

well the safest would have to be these bad boys. crank that din up to 30 for all that ohio big mountain skiing you do.

I own several pair of Salomon bindings. I will never purchase any other bindings but Salomon....ever.

Salomon STH stands for 'Steel Track Housing'. The track that holds the heel piece in place is made of steel. The durability of this binding can't be beat.

Plus, 5 year warranty if purchased from a Salomon dealer. No one in the industry but Salomon backs up their bindings for that long. Most brands have a 1 or 2 year warranty. (For me, this was the main selling point.)

STH 14 is my binding of choice.

sth12 and 14(non driver) use the shitty Z toe. its fine for someone lighter weight who isn't skiing super hard, but if you push your self at all, get something with a driver toe(914/916/sth16/ect)

Why Salomon does not offer the STH 14 Driver here in the states puzzles me to no end. I would buy those in a instant.

Opinions on the new marker squire? It has a din range of 3-11
I'm 6'2" and weigh 160lbs. I'm thinking about buying the squire to chuck on some 177cm afterbangs. I'm a crap park skier (for now) and don't really push it that hard. Would the lightweight entry level squire be good enough for my skiing ability? Last year the Dins on my older marker12 bindings were set at about 7/8 and I didn't have any real issues with pre releasing. They performed very well.
Or is it really worth the extra ($100-150+ here) to upgrade to the jester/gryffon. I'm not too worried about durability, I ski less than 20 days a year (sucks) and that involves no urban and very very little rails/boxes.
Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

no, no they are not. every friend I have who has had jesters and skis hard hates them, they pre-release often, the heal can completely slide off the track in a crash

Hey guys I've got a couple questions, and I guess I'll post em here instead of a new thread. So basically, I was skiing today and there was a bit of powder which has been rare this season so I was trying some new tricks. Anyways, that meant lots of hard bails for me. My skis kept coming off so I cranked up the DIN a bit (It was way too low to start with. It was at around a 4.) Anyways, by the end of the day, two small plastic pieces that slide with your boot if your toe ejects had fallen off and I couldn't find em. The bindings seem fine other than that so, is it fine to ski without them?
If not, I'm wondering what kind of bindings I should get, I don't need that high of a DIN, maybe around 7. My current ones though, have had problems with the brakes falling off pretty easily, so I'm not sure if I should get cheap ones again that I might have some problems with, or more expensive, but durable ones. Currently I'm using Rossi Scratch 11s. Thanks.

Not familiar enough with the rossi bindings to comment whether it would be fine to keep skiing on them but i'de take them into your local rossi shop and get them to have a look. If there newish its likely a warranty issue. I know the marker barons had a problem with this piece (its called a friction plate) in their 09/10 model. next year they change the mould and attachment though so it shouldnt be a problem. Point is every time one of them came into my shop marker just sent us a replacement no questions so hopefully rossi will be as accomodating

Hey guys, I need help. I am about 5'10 150lbs and this is my first year freestyle skiing. I got some cheaper stuff this year because I just plan on learning and not going too big. I got the 08/09 Salomon Suspects and Salomon z10 bindings. But i've been reading and i'm concerned that my bindings might crack and can't take the impact of freestyle skiing and my DIN might possibly be too low. Help me out please.

i have sth 12's and im like 110 or so and there set at like 8, im a pretty aggressive skier and i pop out when i bail.. so this chart is somewhat inaccurate
