And last but not least, the person who has donated the most: Holte!

Even though we have raised a lot of money in the past few weeks, I still think we should be able to do more considering we are probably one of the biggest (if not the biggest) sports community around. So after speaking to Holte about this, I have decided to have a auction here on NS for the gear JP Auclair has donated!

So here is the deal, the bidding starts at 250$, and will last until November 1st where it'll continue to go on until there has been no bids within 3 hours. Pretty simple right? To keep things in control, please only go up by 25$ or more, and DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT bid if you don't have the money to pay for it. All your doing is causing problems where they don't need to be!

So, I guess you guys will want to know what your bidding on...

Brand new 08/09 Armada Ar6's signed by JP Auclair

Brand new Orage JP Auclair Jacket (XL)

Brand new Orage JP Auclair Pants (XL)

Brand new Oakley JP Auclair Crowbars

Brand new Level 1 Gloves

The best damn Kendama known to man

A ton of NS stickers and swag!

For more info on Alpine Initiatives, head over to their website, or check out our own articles on JP's great mission

Holte for member of the month! Such a great contributor to this site. Hasn't he won like 5 contests? I mean kids straight ballin at contests. I like the idea. I would love to enter but I am poor. Good idea!

Yeah what does he get because some other kid could donate wayyy more money and he could get nata(unlikely though)

while I am probably going to get blasted for saying this. That shit should be Holtes, so unless he wants to auction it off I don't know what your doing? Wasn't it who ever donated the most during that time would get the gear? Or is it now Newschoolers.com policy to not uphold its end of the deal, sounds kinda like what 9thward has been know to do to people and companies (hint).

Yes it is allways good to to raise money for an orginization such as Alpine Initiatives, but it should not be done when it comprimises the integrity of your own orginization. as far a morals go this is going pretty damn low unless Holte agreed to it ahead of time.

Yes as I've said I already spoke to Holte about it and he was 100% for it. He will still be getting a ton of swag on behalf of NS, but we both agreed this would be a good idea.

You can still donate through the NS Store, and all NS contributions and Alpine Initiatives bought will still be donated to them!

way generous.

might I just add that Im a bit surprised that so few NS members have donated to this cause.

seriously, when i gave money to NS they spent all on booze, should have kept it for a more opportune time hahaha

Wow. Props to Holte. Although I do agree I think he deserves the stuff. He is clearly a very generous guy and honestly I'm kind of confused why there would be a retraction of the original offer. hmmmm....regardless.

Big ups to all the kind NS'ers that helped out the Alpine Initiatives.

i can donate a used point and shoot canon. or some ski clothes. or old race skis. kids in africa need that stuff right? or how about some old textbooks? uh... dvds? ooh, tasteful portraiture, how bout that?

seriously though, im a bum and i want to help.

You guys have to understand that Holte was never the final highest donator, and that I can guarantee people would have donated more than what he did for the cause. Not saying that in a bad way or anything, but some of you people seem to think Holte got cheated out of his prize.

I told him that if he thought this was the case that I would refund him his money out of my own pocket. I'm just trying to get as much money possible for JP.

On a side note, do you think they should be auctioned as a package or seperately? I'm down for whatever as long as we can raise a lot!

Jason, now Im confused. I thought you said Holte won so wouldnt that mean he was the highest donator? Or did you do it randomly? Either way that was super generous of him and he should definitely be hooked up with some NS goodies.

Im thinking auctioning stuff off separately would raise more money. But hey, ya never know

Who would have thought that a selfless act by one of our members would cause such a stir. This auction is a joint idea with Holte, NS and the Alpine Initiative Players to raise even more money. The value of the total prize pack is likely to bring in more as an auction then straight donations already did, so our winner offered to let it go and further the fundraiser. Holte is still getting a very sick pack of swag as a prize so don't feel he's being shafted here.

Sorry if my previous posts weren't very clear, I wasn't expecting everyone to get so worked up about this. Like I said before, I spoke to Holte and he was completely for this idea. He was never the "winner" but just the current highest bidder. I messaged him asking his opinion, and he was 100% for the cause. Check it out

and I hope this clears things up.

Holte --> Mousseau

I

think that's a great idea. The more money that NS can raise for Alpine

Initiative the better. I actually logged in just now to donate a little

more, but if I'm the current leader maybe I'll wait a little while and

try to get in a bidding war with somebody. I'm down with anything you

guys can do to help the cause.

Hey

Andrew, as of now you have donated the most for the Alpine Initiative.

Unfortunately other people haven't been as generous, and we haven't

really raised that much money considering what is at stake.

I had the idea of changing it from the way it is now, to a straight

up auction for the last week. The only person I really have to check in

with is you, since you did donate 200$ and are the current leader. I

think doing an auction will get us a lot more money, which will be

going towards a good cause.

Let me know what you think, the sooner the better!

Thanks a lot man

Yeah no one should be getting worked up about this. Like Chris said, anything that raises more money for Alpine Initiatives is a good thing and you've got my vote.

I understand now, I actually asked Bishop about this a little while ago. You should definitely auction it as a package though since people are already bidding that way.

word, this idea sounds sick, i wish i had more bills so i could throw down for that but its such a great cause

If it's me, I say auction everything separately, but you can put a bid down for the package if you want. If your package bid is higher than all of the highest bids for individual items combined you get them all... just a quicker way than bidding individually, I suppose. Remember that the point of this is for CHARITY, not to give some NSer a good deal on a pack of gear. I think more money would be raised by individually selling the gear.

I need new gloves. I will def give to a good cause and bid on the gloves. As for everything else, a bit out of my price range even for a good cause

SEPERATE

Is there anyway for poor 16 year olds to do their part, i dont have very much money, but i do have a lot of stuff i would be more then willing to donate, Clothes, shoes, books, gameboys, jackets, cds, dvds, and a lot of other stuff, i think that if a underprivlaged child got my gameboy then he would be super stocked and i would feel good about myself so let me know what i can do, i always see those adds on tv about the kids in africa who like dont have shoes and shit, i could hook em up with like 6 pairs of shoes.

Hey guys I'm pretty broke right now too but donated as much as I could. You won't be homeless if you donate $10 or $20 bucks. Please help if you can at all. This is an unbelievable cause, come on NS, this is a callout! Help out your fellow skiers to make this a success!

If the format is going to change, auction everything off seperately for the most bank for the buck!
