The Alpha 1...

...is like the best ski ever!!
I got my pair on firday and went to kaunertal glacier (austria) today to test them, and they just blew my mind away! At first the pros: they re light as fuck, and their sidecut/rocker is absolutely awesome. If you ski foreward and hit jumps foreward it just feels like every normal ski, the same if you land, regular or switch. The same stability etc. But if you hit jumps switch it feels like ure skiing a ski thats only 140cm long instead of 182, which makes popping switch way easier and catching an edge way harder than with usual skis. And buttering is awesome. u can butter at any speed you want without worrying about catching an edge (at least foreward, didnt butter switch today). I also did some technical stuff on rails like swups to prezels etc which is also easy as nothing on those skis. The only thing that was a little bit negative (but thats a subjective opinion) is, that its a little bit too stiff (at least in my opinion) especially for buttering. But I guess if it d be much softer it d be harder to control the ski on jumps. So, in fact the alpha 1 is an awesome ski, perfect for jumps (especially for switch) perfect for rails (well, there might be some better ones for rails, but i dont think for jumps) and well, didnt take it to the bc today ;-)In my opinion the best park ski ever!!!

i have a feeling this ski is going to change the way park skis are made. armada is taking their skis in the right direction

i saw a pair in the shop the other day and they are SICK, i would get them if i didnt already get new skis

sounds likes sick ski, congrats

and about the stiffness, keep in mind they're new skis and haven't broken in yet so they'll get softer. could you compare the flex to any other skis tho?

sick. im buying a pair after this season.

when you get to hit some groomers/glades or anything post how it preformed

sry, havent skied a ski as stiff as this one jet. Its definately stiffer than last years 4frnt TNK, which is the stiffest ski ive ever skied

Awesome bro, I had heard so much about the new JJ and nothing about these. Now I'm excited to try them out somewhere.

my pair came to my local store two days ago. maybe they are deliver faster in europe than in the US. i think armada has their factory in austria or something. dont kill if im wrong.

ill post some pics as fast as possible.

but armadas do. I know someone is going to argue with me and say that the ANT and probably some other ski doesnt decamber, becasue they dont, they are excellently built, but AR6s do and their cores are more similar to the alpha 1 than the ultralight core used in forementioned skis.

hard to de camber a rockered ski don't ya think?

Alpha 1 = narrower JJ. true story. same ski minus the width. Same rocker and taper, same flex. yada yada yada.

I like my skis to get softer. I bank on it happening when choosing my next ski.

Anyway I am now strongly considering the alpha ones as my next park ski...Or the moment reno rockers...can't count those out either!

yea can we get some feedback on this ski i ski eastcoast been lookin for a sick ski that shreds up groomers and is rockered this ski looks promising

these are pictures of jacob from the london freeze, i think hes riding alpha 1's...

i thought i saw a better one of him standing on the podium with them but i couldnt find it.

I'm soo stoked! Have one pair of Alpha 1's and one pair of JJ's laying right infront of me and I will have my season premiere next week.

MY 2 CENTS- Line is making wider park skis, armada is making rockered park skis. both are the progression of park i feel. There will always be the standared camber/skinny park skis, but its nice to see that new designs are being made. i'm excited to see what park skis will look like in a few years

i read an e-mail from armada that was posted on here in a different thread and what jacob is skiing in that comp is the alpha 1. i guess they designed it with more than one top sheet and because he is jacob he gets to pick which one he wants to ride.

this is what armada says at www.armadaskis.com

park 10/10

pipe 10/10

groomers 9/10

powder 8/10

big moutain 8/10

i think it's a litte bit better the avg. park skis in powder.

but i dont know. i havent tryed em you yet.

that is really sick, thanks for the info. I wonder how Moment Reno Rockers are too, I haven't seen much info about them, review-wise.
