The 2011-2012 Saga thread

god kids are dumb. heres how it works, i swear kids complain everytime. saga packs up stuff to go, prints shipment tags, email you with notification about the slip being printed. then they sit there until picked up. i ordered mine on monday and wont get shit till the 24th as an expected date... you would think people would get it by now and stop crying

mine has been sitting there for 24 hours already, just not what i expected when ordering from a company that so many people praise about on here.

just for example i ordered something off of backcountry, it arrived yesterday. i was just stoked to use my jacket this weekend, guess ill just have to wait though.

Praise for quality and style yes....as far as shipping goes, well that is another thing. People ALWAYS bitch/complain about Saga's shipping. Searchbar saga shipping and threads will be popping up.

My jacket has been chilling as well, but I got it for 60% off so it can get here when it gets here. The employees are probably riding the storm that is hitting so relax especially if you got your shit for more than half off.

Oh and comparing Saga to Backcountry is too big of a stretch.

It's alright for the majority of the people on here that order from Saga because you actually live on the continental US. Where as a small minority have purchased outerwear from them during the sale live in Europe.

You expect them to ship it reasonably quick as the time it takes to get from SLC to wherever we live in Europe takes almost a lifetime* compared to someone that lives in say, New York.

Now I don't care how long it takes for my jacket and pants to arrive, as long as it arrives before January 29th.

*The word "lifetime" is used a bit too rashly, but hopefully you get my point...

The thing is that they are not at all clear about shopping procedures--the backbone of an online store--on their website.

am i the only one that has gotten a prism teal, i've yet to see a single person with it here in QC or anyone post pics on here. Someone out there that has one please post some pics!

Soooo I got a tracking number and an estimated delivery (which should have been yesturday) in an email, but when I look to track it nothing comes up, it just says a tag has even made. Anybody else have this happen?

This is true, i live in australia and i really don't care how long it takes as long as i get it. But surprisingly i have ordered quite a few things from saga, and it arrives in about a 10-12 days, which for me is amazingly fast.

An even smaller minority purchase from saga in Australia. (By the way anyone Aussies here?)

Actually most I have seen are only murda mystery, storm trooper and alps camo. Seems people are staying away from the skittles and colour block jackets. I got a Caufileld Grey that after a year with a Gold Coast and Syrup is a nice change on and off the hill.

When I got my Saga last year they just dropped it in between my screen door and my actual front door, so I would assume you don't have to sign for it unless something changed.

L if you want to look somewhat normal XL if you want to have your jacket get stuck in your bindings when you clip in

They said by the end of the day. If its not here I'm gonna rage, I'm going skiing tomorrow and I could use a jacket.

Lol at the kids saying "ZOMG I need a jacket, where is my Saga?!?"

What did you do, sell your old jacket as soon as you heard about this sale? What have you been doing all season? If this sale never happened, would you still be complaining about not having a jacket to ski in?

STOP FUCKING COMPLAINING, you just got a Saga jacket for $120

this seriously, just because the ups thing said by the end of the day on blank doesnt mean its gonna show up that day, sagas shipipng has always been like this, read the posts from november, kids were shitting thier pants then too, so just keep it to yourselves

im 5'6" and have a medium from a couple years ago (zipper length is still the same) and it fits like a regular jacket. doesn't quite reach my fingertips if my arms are straight down my side. should leave you with a pretty technical fit, baggy but not really long.

as for myself, I just ordered a large JV shutout. little unsure but it seems Andy Partridge rocks the large anomie and on deck and hes listed as the same height. wish the guide had him wearing a shutout.

I will complain all i fucking want

and for you information, i havn't had a jacket because its been so fucking warm and there hasn't been any snow. the snow is finally falling now, and i'm in need of a jacket, so i would like it to come as quickly as possible because i'm excited for my nice new jacket. is that a crime? no, so kindly fuck off

>:(

Im 5 10 5 11 and order an XL will it be to long one me? Also I ordered it and it say a ticket has been made, but the tracking isnt showing where it is right now. Also a buddy of mine ordered it at the same time basically and he got it to shp through usps and mine got shipped through ups? WTf why does it not just stick with USPS?

they just dropped mine off at the ups location, check yours maybe they did the same.

i was sort of stoked to ski in it this weekend, but whatevs.

Here is an XL on me. I'm just a hair under 5'10" and fairly muscular. I'm wearing a light Saga summer hoodie underneath and the jacket is obviously cinched, but not overly cinched. So what I'm saying is that you should be just fine with XL.

Shipping is the one thing Saga needs to figure out. Whether that means hiring a dedicated staff member or just clearly laying out shipping policies on their website. Shipping is the backbone of an online store. People can get angry until they change their flawed policy.

They have TWO customer service/shipping guys and then others who help out. Do you realize how many people jumped at this sale on the first day and then the following days? It was absolutely insane. This isn't Backcountry where they have dozens of people dedicated to shipping. They're an independent company and Sean and Dan (and who knows who else) worked through the night last night just packing orders. I know it can get frustrating as a customer, but I only feel that it's fair to cut them some slack considering they just offered 60% off on everything. I think these pictures of the invoices say enough.

Hey, I totally agree. I've always thought that they could do better on shipping transparency. It's not something tied to the sale or anything. It's just a friendly criticism. That's all. It's a difficult sales model, not having any stockists/resellers. My opinion is that a bit more transparency on shipping both before and after the sale of an item would go along way toward establishing their brand. I'm not bashing Saga and what they do. I'm just offering a thought. That's it. A blog post requiring five minutes of typing time would solve the short-term issue. But there are systemic challenges with their model that need to be addressed. Again, that's just my opinion. And it has always been my opinion.
