The 2011-2012 Saga thread

I was super impressed with the quality of the stuff I got from the summer sale, so as a result I will be rockin' Saga this winter. Pre-ordered the Shutout Varsity, combo'd with white pants from last year. Its going to be the look.

Just realized something as i was watching videos in Saga's cinema on their website. I believe that Keefer is wearing the On Deck in black at 3:22 in "Volume 3- the restock." Anyone wanna double check. the only difference i can find is a yellow patch on the front. maybe because it was a prototype?

heres the link...

Dude I snowboard/ski in PA. The coldest it gets there is like 20 degrees. I wear more than under armor and a baggy shirt like twice a season. Real coat not required.

Which one looks better to you? I think all blue looks pretty lame at the end. And should I get XL or L? I don't want them to be really baggy and the jacket should be at least 7 cm above my knees. I am 185cm tall. And for all of you to know. Here in Finland Saga ain't really even expensive. You get that quality which Saga is making for like 500-600euros and thats expensive as FUCK and full Saga suit costs about 360 euros and that includes shipping.. Here are the two combos I am thinking. (No I am not a good skier)

Hey man, dont worry about that previous post. I am sure Saga would be stoked that their gear is making it to finland so buy up my man. In my opinion and style I would go with the one on the left, but only because I love vibrant blue. Then again buy the one that you will put on everyday and be stoked and have no worries. As far as sizing goes, which I am not a master at, I would go with XL. Hope that helps!

doesnt matter if your a good skier or not.... its clothes so dont worry about that but i would say get XL and i like the one on the left. in this thread i have seen alot of the blue coat black pants but im a big fan of black coat and red pants. i think it would look so sick! hope this helps!

Haha thats what I am thinking! how can you be to shitty for a jacket or pants? And I like baggy fit! And haters gonna hate. + Saga is pretty cheap when compared to Finlands prices at the same quality gear!

And thank you. I am decided to get the vivid blue jacket and murda mystery pants. Coz I have some hoodies and gear what will fit to Black pants better than to orange pants! :)

Hey, just wondering how long the sleeves are on saga jackets. Obviously they are tall fit, but Im wondering how long the arms are, specifically on a L jacket...Anyone ever tried on a L, how tall are you and how did the sleeves measure

Riddle: Where does a king keep his armies?

In his sleevies.

well from what I noticed, the 09/10 season jackets had SUPER long arms. The shortened it up a bit in the 10/11 season (also the change in fabric made it a bit more stiff and didn't hang as much). I'd say the 11/12 gear will be close to the 10/11 gear.

Alright guys, need help here. I already ordered the Rip City Red with the Black pants but not sure if it's exactly what I want. I know I did a bad job on the balaclava and the helmet but what do you guys think looks best and goes well with my goggles. Pick one though.

To ME the top center one looks the best since I like blue and orange combo. But get what you like all of those look sick!I don't know I have been wondering what to order and changed them really many times. and I changed them again to orange pants, blue jacket :D

apologies because im sure this has been said somewhere but anyone know the insulation on the on deck? considering one for off hill wear

IMO buying saga jeans is like buying FD jeans... It goes beyond supporting and liking a company to kind of whoring yourself out to them... but that's just my opinion.

Personally, I will be saving my money to buy some raw japanese selvedge denim from Jiberish, and some flannel-crotched khakis from head porter plus.

Let me rephrase this quickly:

PRODUCING jeans as an outerwear company seems to me like taking advantage of those who are willing to whore themselves out to your company (one of which, I will not deny being). There are just so many quality companies that specialize in things like jeans and streetwear that I think it's just taking kids' brand loyalty to a whole new level.

I mean, look at other outerwear companies; they don't really stray much from outerwear and other related clothes. (Orage, TNF, Causwell, etc) There are just so many people that already make quality denim and streetwear and such that there is no hole for them to fit into in the market, other than the kids who will buy anything that they make, whereas for those companies as outerwear companies, they are all filling a very distinct niche.

my $0.02

Orage makes belts, tees, shorts, etc. as well... As an outerwear company, you really can't become a successful company by only making outerwear, since kids will only be buying that stuff once a year. That's why they gotta branch out into other things, like tees, shorts, hoodies, etc.

Well then it won't matter what one you pick then if you like them all... What good does another kid-on-the-internet's opinion do? That would essentially be dressing to impress NS, and out of all those there has to be one particular one that you like more than the others...

You have a point, but I honestly do not think Saga is producing these for the sole purpose of taking advantage of 13 year olds who are willing to buy anything with 'saga' written on it. Obviously they are making them to make a profit I mean thats what companies do, but IMO if saga wants to try to branch out and try something new and progress as a company than I say props to them. Again thats just my opinion and I fully respect yours too.

and they will make a profit with them, as you stated.

I do think that making jeans is a cool idea. Everyone likes to wear jeans that have their favorite brand's name on them.

And no, I don't think that Andy and Austin are sitting behind closed doors lighting their faces from below with a flashlight, cackling evilly while coming up with ideas to scam kids out of their money by printing saga on things, but kids will buy saga jeans because they say saga on them, no doubt.

You basically said it was a joke that FD and Saga are making jeans, and only people who ride Saga/FD's dick would buy them, yet then you continue to go on and say how you would definitely buy jeans made by Jiberish. Lol.

meh. Jiberish makes stuff that i know is quality, and the raw selvedge is something that sets them apart. but meh, that's a different discussion if you want to PM me.

Is the on deck the same fit as the anomie? I looked at the size and fit thing but couldn't really tell. Plus k to whoever answers my question
