The 2010 MLB Playoff Thread

giants win 1-0 at chicago, padres win and stay 0.5 game behind, rockies lose to diamondbacks and drop to 2.5 games back.

braves lose to phillies, padres are now 1 game back of wild card, rockies are 3 back.

god i love autumn. football, baseball, and skiing on the way.

Twins looking to get the top seed for the AL playoffs which would be HUGE.

Phillies pitching is unstoppable...there is no better playoff rotation than theirs.

Giants and Padres are battling back and forth like crazy

The Rockies just got swept by the Diamondbacks

The Braves are losing it.

I still stand by my prediction Twins vs. Phillies world series.

I'm going to stick with my prediction from the beginning of the season. Rays vs. Braves... with Rays winning!

Twins will definitely go far in the playoffs. I dunno with all these injuries with the veterans, but we wont get eliminated right away though.

if they give it to the fucking yanks im gonna lose my shit. cc has been solid, but felix has been the best.

Nobody besides Morneau is injured. Mauer has knee stiffness and they're just letting him rest before the playoffs. And as far as Morneau goes I would love to have him back but I don't think it will affect us. He has never performed well in the playoffs and Cuddyer has been doing fine. As long as they don't play Punto we'll be fine. Fuck Punto.

fightin' Phils on the road back to the WS

with our rotation of hamels, halladay, and oswalt......goodluck to everyone else

im hoping to see the spankees again this year for a WS rematch

i just love when homers talk all kinds of bs and then tell me that im wrong. not that i think im an expert but i actually pay attention to the whole MLB not just 1 team.

So much for "Rocktober". They made a great run at it, but lightening stops striking at one point. I feel bad for them because the media hyped them up so much and, as a result, created a few band-wagoners to come out of hibernation who only went back into hibernation disappointed. So instead, here's to a "Let'sGetOutTheBaitAndGoFlyFishingtober". There's always next year!

Sorry Double post. Yeah, it is going to be a good series I feel this year. Even though I will be rooting for the Yanks, the Twins are much different team this year (they were probably pretty fatigued last year from having to squeak into the post-season with that 1 game playoff with the Tigers) and will give the Yanks struggling rotation some issues.

I'm headed to game two of the Yankees vs. Twins can't wait!

If Liriano steps it up and tosses a gem in game one...and Twins win probably a 1 - 0 or 2 - 1 ball game, the key is game one, if the Twins can come out and beat sabathia it looks good for them.

I hope the braves beat the giants though the giants are on fire and their pitching rotation is just mean. Giants win that one in 4

I see the Phillies sweeping the the reds, I just don't see the reds being able to produce runs against hammels, halladay and oswalt.

For the Rangers and Rays...the Rays definitely have the advantage with David Price leading the way...but for some reason I have an odd feeling that both teams win their home games and game five will be played back in Tampa.

i think the giants take the braves, and the phillies take the reds.

phillies vs. giants is quite the toss-up in the NLCS. if the giants can keep hitting, their pitching will get them to the world series.

Yankees - Twins
------------------Rays - Yankees
Rays - Texas

------------------------------------WS Yankees (L) Phillies (W)

Braves - Giants
-----------------Braves - Phillies
Reds - Phillies
Mind you im a Sox fan

I am so stoked that the Giants won today. Now we just need to keep the pitching up and need to get some hits, if we can get some hits, that will help us a ton.

After watching the Reds all year, they can beat the Phillies. It certainly won't be easy, but it's definitely possible.

Oh for sure, even though we were 5-2 against them, I think like 3 of the Phillies wins were in extra innings...so tight games. GO REDS!

It's all about the Cincinnati Reds. Finally after 15 years they are in the playoffs again. I'm a big fan of them since 2000 so the struggle is over. They are the darkhorse of the league and I can't wait to see them beat Philly and move on to the World Series. Joey Votto just needs to do his thing.

Really not how I wanted my Reds to start the playoffs, but you can't do a whole lot when a guy is dealing like Hallady is right now. Thankfully it's a best of 5 series.

doctober is right. i've been watching him for a long time now, as a lifelong jays fan, and i'm so happy the best pitcher in the game is finally getting a chance to shine wheen it counts.

go phillies.

Im not a Phillie fan but they are a well oiled machine right now. One outstanding pitching performance after another.

Im not sure what Girardi was thinking announcing today that Burnett is back in the rotation. Id rather have Kerry Wood start then him.
