The 2010-11 Saga Thread

Then you definitely don't want to check up on some of the more recent updates to the Saga blog..

In one of the pictures where the inscription talks about getting a chance to test the new winter line in real conditions everything is intentionally blurred out. From the picture you can basically tell it's a person in a jacket, and they're posing for a photo that was taken in black and white.
 
i agree but not so harsh. i would casually ask for some pics of the jackets on models if possible. just so we no whats up. no need to freak out we will see the real thing in like 20 days or whenever it is.

Alright question for all you Saga geniuses. Are the jackets able to be dry cleaned? I have one and its rather dirty and I want it nice and clean for the upcoming season so... can they be? or will it melt the fabric? I tried looking for the tag that usually says how to go about cleaning it but there wasn't one. So help me out NS.
 
Yeah, what I think is that sure, these little blurred out teasers are awesome in the Spring/Summer to get a peek of what's to come. But come one, if you already paid for the suit, shouldn't you at least get to know what it's going to look like?
 
yeah, i mean theyre a business for chrissake. to the guy above who said "i agree but not so harsh" i say i can express this sentiment as harshly as i want. it's not like theyre Apple getting ready to release a new iphone and havent taken pre-orders yet. no, theyre releasing outerwear that a lot of people have already paid good money for, what's the fucking point of jerking us around at this stage? just post some decent pics of the stuff.
 
why would u guys order if its pissing u off ?they wrote in red that preorder will start shipping on nov 30!for the pictures, there is no big difference with last years ! Cmon its just the front pocket and the logo and a lil smaller...Be patient ride with ur old stuff ! and hope u get an email from them...

 
What the pre-order information thing actually says is: "We are estimating all pre-orders shipped Priority by November 30th, 2010 and hopefully even sooner."

Hence shipping should probably start before Nov 30th. Not that I care, since I won't get my hands on my own jacket before Dec 21st anways (since I put my home address and not my college address in the preorder)..
 
how would i know whether i like it or not without seeing the product? i might like it a lot, but it generally sells out before the presale is over, so i basically have to buy it to find out...

all im saying is that it's an annoying business practice that they employ, i generally like everything else about Saga as a company, i just think they should change how they act with regard to this one thing.
 
oakley quality isn't great although it's getting better. i prefer saga pants and oakley jackets. saga jackets fit too jibber for me
 
I'm thinking of changing my order from a darkness jacket, to a lobster. with syrup pants.
ahhhh i cant make up my mind haha.
 
There are a few good pictures in there, and some interesting information about Saga as a whole.. But it's still trying to be too artsy instead of straight up informative.
 
For those that don't want to read, this is what you wanted to see anyways...

i loved getting to read about the factory workers. and i think the pictures in this little release were the best we have seen yet. straight up, no blur, no b&w, no color touching, just pictures. and getting the shipping info wasnt half bad either.

Anyone who ordered a Large Darkside jacket this year wanna trade me for my Large Lobster i ordered this year? I origionally wanted the darkside but when i ordered it was sold out! Anyone who wants to please PM me. Thanks!
 
It's Wiley and Collin Collins so they've probably had it for a while.

I also noticed the pants looking a little tight, but A) it's Wiley who I've never seen wearing baggy gear to begin with and B) He's mid stride at an awkward camera angle.

Collin in the full black suit is probably a better indicator for real fit.
 
here's something encouraging.. i guess.

the lobster is one shade MORE RED that last years. this means that in photos and through some goggles its going to appear to be orange just like last years. its so close on the color spectrum that its almost an optical illusion. when you pull it out of the box its going to look mighty red, but when you snap a cell shot to send to some homies its gunna look mighty orange.
 
and look at the next pic on the saga blog. the jacket deffinatly looks red but its the SAME shade as the actual lobster. 2 pics in a row, 2 different appearances, one color.

-kinda disappointing that their logo is screen printed on this year as opposed to embroidered...
 
well providing they receive the blastoff in xl in the first shipment I should be getting mine soon! I was like the 3rd person to order... haha
