Focus Snow & Skate 1st Annual Jib Classic

Focus Snow & Skate and Ride Snowboards are teaming up to bring you a new concept in competition. A golf style ski and snowboard competition, there will be 9 “holes” (terrain features) set up around the hill in various terrain parks. A specific trick will be assigned to each “hole” (appropriate for skiers and snowboarders) and you will have a certain number of attempts to land it for par. Teams will have an alloted amount of time to complete the course in, and everyone will be scored upon completion. Also, the Ride snowboards pro team will be hanging out for the day. Come on out and get your game on! Times and registration will be posted soon.

Guys this comp should be super sick... try and make it to both days I know cascade will be ill but im sure that tyrol will be good as well. I'm really pumped about this comp, something new to try. Lets get a lot of teams out there though so that we can get more fun comps like this not just rail jam after rail jam after rail jam.

 
so wait you ride and then you are just judged on your individual score, not how the group you ride with does?
 
im just as big a model as luke is. we are doing a bucket dudes .com photoshoot tomorrow before wild.

ahh so if we were gonna go only one day it wouldn't work? i was thinkin they would have a front 9 prize or somethin too. i have exams >_<
 
as far as i know focus wanted to have front 9 prizes and back 9 prizes.. and i think there might be an overall winner too.. but you dont have to do both.. i will check to make sure..
 
ok talked to our events dude who has all our info that focus gave us. the plan is definately to have seperate prizes for both front and back 9, there wont be a "per hole" prize, but just prizes for the cascade 9 lowest scores, and then another set of prizes for tyrol's 9 lowest scores. Focus is providing the prizes but we have some backups for skiers in case they are all snowboard specific.. Dont know what tyrol has planned but im sure they will come through. The prizes wont be huge but the comp sounds like its going to be a blast, and its only 10 bucks to enter.. and we will have features all over the hill so your not all just packed into one spot, and none of the parks will be closed for the comp. should be a good time
 
yeah, they said that they will set the par to a certain amount of tries to land the trick. say that it is four. you get it in three tries so that would be -1.
 
is this an all rail event or are jumps included ?

cost just ten bucks at both or lift tickets tooo.

we are working on getting the setup worked out this week. we want to put features in all the parks so hopefully we can get a decent jump out. we are going to have a jump for sure, but we wont know how big it can be until we actually get everything moved around and see how many features we will have and which ones focus wants to use...

also there is talk of 2 divisions, like a blue tees, and white tees... like blue tees would have a hard trick, and the white tees would be easier.. so that everyone doesnt have to 270 on or blind switchup everything... but we will see what kind of prizes we get together and stuff
 
can you register for just one day? i only wanna go to the one at tyrol. and if i can't, then hopefully i'll be able to ski with you guys anyway since the park is not supposed to be closed
 
yea but it also said registration was at cascade. if i can't go on saturday, then can i register at tyrol before it on sunday?
 
dudes!  i will be at the back 9 on sunday!  im not sure how this team thing works but if we get to choose our own, someone should holler and i will ride with you.  also what time is registration?  holla back!
 
yeah we ended up getting really busy and had to work, i didnt even get to see how the comp went, much less compete or film. next time (new years eve) will be much better, alot more talent coming for sure on the skier side of things..
 
I was hittin handrails until 4am and had no will to get up at 8 to go to cascade. Got there arouund 3pm though..
