I know it's ski gabber but I was in a mountain parking lot. So that's the story.

This weekend went skiing like every other weekend. Parked my car in the parking lot like every other weekend but I forgot to lock a door. I had nothing to steal in it so it wasn't a problem anyway. After my day of skiing I came back to my car and there was a note inside saying I forgot to lock my doors ind saying stuff about how important it is to lock doors. I saw the police officer that locked my doors so I tell him thanks and he smiles at me a strange way....so i'm like umm k. After he's gone I take a better look at the sheet and it is written on it that I'll receive a fine by the mail eventualy. This officer has nothing better to do of his fucking life than that....that's totaly gay. And most of all he's being a dumbass hypocrite by smiling at me after I was being polite with him and everything. I hate it everytime I try to follow the rules there another bastard like him that pisses me off and that makes me do stupid stuff...

Was that by any chance in the Orford parking lot? And the fine would be 54$?

If the police put the bill in the car, you can contest it by saying that the olice didn't have any right to open your door and it is threspassing.

Happened to my friend and he proved that his door couldn't lock and that the officer didn't have any right to open the door. He got off paying nothing... Anyway if you go in court to contest it, chances are that the police wont show up so you'll win.

But yheah, you are right, it's fucking stupid.

i didnt know you could get fined for that.. thats fucking dumb what a dick why couldnt he just be a nice guy and lock it and leave you in peace

Yep you totaly understood the gayness of the situation.....

It's because not locking your doors prompt people to steal your car. (dunno if prompt is the word im looking for but like it makes people think much more of stealing your car)

Avila's parking and he didn't put the fine in the car only a paper saying you should alway lock yours doors and in small it was saying that a fine would be mailed to me.

hahahha i was about to say that avila cops are garbage. They give tickets to everyone for no reason, if you dont have your buckle in the parking they will most likely give you a ticket. It's rediculeous they give tickets to everyone around the ski hill but they don't do shit about everyone's skis being stolen. /end rant

Yeah like someone up above in the post said, you should be able to fight that ticket.
Unless their is just cause for them to search your car (including opening the door) they shouldn't be allowed to w/o consent. (I believe, might be wrong though)
I mean thats ridiculous, its your shit, if you want it stolen leave your doors unlocked but a ticket is r tarded.

if you get a ticket, say the clicker hadnt been functioning properly and it wasnt unlocking so you left it open to avoid the hassle it takes to get in

that is the most retarded law I have ever heard of in my life. Next thing you know, cops will be walking around your house at night while you're sleeping. eating your food, watching your porn, then fining you for the whole thing.
fuck that!

yeah thats been a ridiculous law in quebec for a long time. they often do sweeps of ski area parking lots in gatineau too

not really that crazy of a law quebec has a pretty big issue with car theft however there is a solution to the problem which actually doesnt involve much at all, lock your doors...

One time a friend and I were back country skiing and I left my car door unlocked, open, and my keys were lying on the seat the entire time. I got extremely lucky as we were basically on a highway turnout and there were no other skiers or snowmobiles using the lot at the time.
