So I bought some 1080s a little while ago, and during the purchase I ask the sale dude if they were covered under an international warrenty. Same with the bindings (Rossignol). He said yup to both.

Sweet...I thought.

With the ski's only 4 runs old, I stack it on a medium sized kicker, and the plastic tip comes off one of the skis. I find the pieces and the repair shop to epoxy it back on.

Couple of weeks later hitting an icy hip...comes off again. This time Im not so lucky in finding the pieces.

By this time it's only a week before I head back home to New Zealand, and the repair shop said it would take weeks to ship a new part in.

So I bring the ski's home with me expecting them to be repaired at the local shop under warrenty.

I find out that neither the 1080's or the bindings (which broke in another unrelated incident..with a tree:) arn't covered under warrenty in my home country. Fuck that I thought.

So the local ski shop sent the bindings away to get fixed, and Rossi replaced them..even though they wern't under warrenty.

But Salomon refused to replace the plastic tip...so I had to fork out $60 to buy *2* new tips..because they only come in pairs.

You would think Salomon, being such a large company, could afford to loose a $30 tip.

I'll be very wary in buying Salomons in the future...

THat sucks, I've had the same problem with those tips coming off. I luckily found it both times though.

yeah same problem happened to me with my heads, they only replaced my skis when the local ski shop bolted my tips back onto my skis, ask em to do that for you, maybe youll get a free pair of 1080's

Don't worry about the plastic tips.. they o nothing.. they ae just for show.. many people take them off intentionally

Yeah...i wouldnt of given them 60 bucks for the tips. The reason they charge that much is bewcause people apparently buy them for 60 bucks. I would of just pick some nice duct tape over the tips.

 
whoever told me to get twins i allready got some, when the sent me a new pair but the next level of ski up so i went and sold em, made all my money back and then some

holy shit... that really blowss man... i seriosuly think that companies are becoming money bitches... thats good to hear that rossi still replaced it... maybe salomon thought u meant whole new skis not jsut the tips... damn man it really sucks when skis fall and teh companies lied about the warranties... pure shit..

rossignol is pretty sweet when it comes to warranty..theyre just a little slow...thats all, but u always get ure stuff...
