you know, that little patch of snow at the bottom of an urban rail, why is it there? having never done an urban jib myself, i can't explain it but no one ever stays on it. i even saw one skier miss his little patch all together. it can't be to protect your skis because the next ten feet of pavement skier slide across doesn't sound healthy.

most people land on it because it's not as sticky as concrete so then it's easier to adjust to the concrete...so if your going fast you won't stick and die

a few reasons

A) to absorb impact

b) to give good landing that will allow skiier to get balance before pavement

c) used to slope out landings of steeper rails so trick looks more fluid

He then went straight at the jump but right before he hit it he stopped and ran back up to me and kicked me in the shin really hard with his ski boot and touched my bum while i was down. Next while I was writhing in pain in the snow he put on a little pointy dunce hat and red speckled glasses and pranced about singing 'I am cookie fairy! the cookie fairy! Would you like some Chocolate chip cookies? how about some peanut peacan cookies? What is your desire, I'll make it in a cinch, when it comes to cookies and sweets, nothing says homebaked food like bryan fucking gallant'
