So that dude, did he really used to live in the 9th Ward in New Orleans? I'm not calling him a rat bastard liar, but if I lived there for like a week I'm pretty sure I would be dead or dealing crack like Whoa. I've been seeing footage of it on CNN and it's extremely narly and to come out of there and start a ski company is nothing short of ass-fucking crazy.
 
is 9thward pronounced like they say it on tv? on tv they said ward like "wore'd", sounded like the begining of warden.
 
its pronounced like werd or word... ninthward... the name came from the neighborhood in orleans, so yeah how they say it on TV. but it started as a skate company thats why it doesnt really seem like a place where skis come from.

My understanding is that Campbell McKeough lived in New Orleans, just not in the Ninth Ward. His story is that he grew up in New Orleans, lived near that neighbourhood, went to high school with a bunch of kids from the Ninth Ward, played football w/ them and got to know them. He admired the "family" intensity of how tight people were from the Ninth Ward, so named his ski company after that.

Oh, and he got into skiing because he went to college in Colorado. He was a road bike racer before he went to school out west. I think it was C.U. Boulder. Boulder has a pretty intense road biking scene.
 
actually im not the one deleting threads, i dont ahve the power to do that, only the green named people can....and ya, i think that dudes the closest, the dude above me. i think he may ahve grown up in ninthward tho....he's a ghetto ass
 
the sales manager told me he didnt, but I heard from somewhere else that he did. who knows, who cares. of couse its pronounced ward like warden.
 
Cosco isn't a mod. And Ninthward may be responsible for the thread deletion but they aren't the ones doing it... NS is, because they have to. Not Cosco's fault personally.
 
haha, yeah, he is from Ninthward. No one from the ghetto has the kind of money he invested in a ski/skate/outerwear company. It takes hundreds of thousands to get something like that going. He is backed by his trust fund. I wonder what the true thugs from Ninthward would think of a rich white kid naming a company after a neighborhood he didn't come from? Uh oh, I hope I didn't piss off any of the "tough guys" from Ninthward.....
 
Thanks. If anyone would like to hear them they can message me... I won't get into it in a thread again, I'll just say that in my opinion Ninthward doesn't deserve any NSer's business and won't have mine, and leave it at that.
 
hey man read the story above your humongous empty head. He played football with them and became friends with them. Now are you feeling sheepish? Well I am sure they are honored to have a company named after them thats so successful. Have you ever had a company named after you? I bet it feels great, but you will never know that joy beccause you suck. and you can't come to my birthday party.
 
I agree, ever watch rap interviews when they ask rappers if they can go back to the hood that they claim in their songs? Most can't, and I doubt anyone from that hood would be stoked on a little white kid using their neighborhood to sound tough especially since he isn't from there.

pretty much got it right cept i dont think he played football.. lol unless he was the kicker or something. and he didnt go to CU
