Anyone going?

I can't make the actual event due to work, but I'll be there at around 1pm to likely take photos and also session afterwards hopefully.

Can anyone vouch for the setup? And, will the setup stay up for the weekend if the mountain opens? Thanks.
 
Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I saw on the website that the target date is the same day, but the jam is held regardless if open. Any locals know for sure if HV will be open by this weekend?
 
I am fairly confident that there will be lift-served skiing at Holiday Valley this weekend, likely not Friday though. I'm optimistic about Saturday or Sunday though.

The features will likely be up all weekend if you ask me.

As for the setup, no idea, but I'm working on getting an answer. I'll post as soon as I know something.

Well, that sucks. I wonder how that impacts any plans for opening this weekend.
 
Yeah, I probably wasn't gonna be able to be at the jam but I wonder if they'll still try to open up this weekend.

That was as of yesterday. With cold back in the picture by Thursday evening, and they are calling for possible lake effect snows too...

I'm remaining optimistic.
 
Yep I'm remaining optimistic that I can find a ride there! I'm pretty confident that they'll be able to open up this weekend, and if they open up I really hope they set up some small rails or something. Bristol never does stuff like that.
 
I think they had some features up the 2nd day last year. I hope they have a box or something up as well. Just a simple flat box would be cool.

I'll be there opening day either way though.

And then the next week I'm thinking KB will be open, and I'll be there if they are.
 
as long as its postponed, ill be there. im in michigan til friday to visit some family, but ill be there everyweekend after that
 
Yeah I wasn't going to go if the resort didn't open so I guess it's a good thing as long as they open this weekend or next.
 
Game over it looks like.

No skiing at Holiday Valley this weekend, and temperatures looks very questionable if you ask me for them to be open next week.

Make-up date for the rail-jam is December 8th.
 
Yeah. Fawking lame-o.

I personally feel that they could get open by Sunday, but am guessing that they don't feel it would be financially feasible.
 
Yea, kinda gay. Did you see the decent coverage they had on Mardis Gras on the main page? Looks better that KB mid season, lol
 
Well, that ish is long gone with the warm and the torrential downpours this evening.

But it's going to be fawking COLD the next few nights.
 
Sorry to see them give up on the Jam as there's a winter storm advisory for tonight and tomorrow. We have kids riding rails in our lawn with "snow" from the local ice rink. It really doesn't take much for everybody to have a great time.
 
KB/Langmen will be providing the rails and set up for the Save the Snow Jam with Phatman at Fredonia on the 2nd. The "snow will come from the rink on campus or with the cold air moving in we could have some good old Lake Effect going on. I hope it is poorly attended as everyone will be off enjoying opening day at HV or KB, I would think we are another week away, but who knows.
