Thanks Newschoolers hah

First post, first thread. Just wanted to say thanks to the site I found a few weeks ago before I purchased all my ski gear. Read alot of threads that helped me make some decisions on gear.
Been skiing for about 5-6 years, and just got into the freestyle/park side the last year or two. I've been the kid on the rental skis doing 360's (i know, im that cool, right?) and tearing up their gear on the rails. I finally decided it was time to get my own stuff and sold some guitar equipment to make the purchases.

If it wasnt for yall, I would have missed out on the sweet deal I got on my pair of Bluehouse MR 164's. I had seen em posted on ebay, but overlooked them until about an hour before the auction ended. Some searching turned up alot of positive stuff from the company on here. I ended up getting some lightly used ones w/ a set of rossi bindings for $160. Pretty stoked and can't wait until they get here.
The auction said 09/10 for the year, but I don't think they are, not worried about it either. here's a pic I found of the design

Also, thanks for all the advice I read about NOT buying ski boots. I'm gonna hold off until I make certain I got a good fitting boot in mind. Almost pulled the trigger on a couple of pairs before I even tried them on.
Happy Holidays, can't wait to get these guys out on the slopes and give them a try. Never ridden twin tips before hah!

Good choice not buying boots without having ever tried them on, too. You probably should at some point buy your own boots (rentals are often uncomfortable, manky, and ill-fitting at best) but when the time for that comes, go to a good ski shop and get fitted. A place like Porters Tahoe is your best bet, but Any Mountain or REI can sometimes be a good place too, depending on where you are/how much they deal with bootfitting/how experienced and knowledgeable the employees are.

Still looking for boots. I've got about $200-$250 to spend on some. I know thats not gonna get me much, so I'm hoping to get something used either locally or offline (but only if im sure the boots will fit, hah).
I'm home for christmas, but I've got a couple of ski shops around me. The only one in the town im in right now wanted $25 before they'd even let me see boots. I've never heard of charging people to try on boots (I wasn't asking for them to fit me, I was just looking at trying on some boots). For now I'm just gonna get some rentals until I'm comfortable with my decision on some.

BTW, just got some sweet sessions pants, and am looking at some first drop hoodies. Gotta look fresh on the mountain!
I'm gonna ski on this gear the rest of the season and hopefully upgrade my bindings and purchase some boots during the off-season
