Simon may be a tool. I don't know, I've only been around him once and it wasn't the kind of meeting where I would have gotten an impression of any kind.
He definitely balled up and went huge and props for that.
What does it matter? Simon isn't my "ambassador" of skiing. No one is. My snowboard friends don't relate all skiing to Simon Dumont's skiing. I don't relate snowboarding to Shaun White or Travis Rice or anyone. It's a personal thing. It's fun to talk on the internet about how someone may be a tool that one time you met him at the X-Games and he didn't want to talk, therefore he is a tool. Like I said, he may be a tool. Then again, you may be a tool too. I know you about as well as I know Simon.
I don't ski around and think about "what would Simon do if he were here". I think about "wow, it's a lot of fun skiing with my friends, let go take another lap on Headwall, then to the pipe, then down through the park"
In the grand scheme of things, none of this matters. Try as hard as you can to secure your "legacy" but that's just it....it won't last. Someone, somewhere will go bigger. Go faster. Spin harder. It's a unless endeavor to think that after your done with skiing to think "yeah, they will remember me". Some may. Most won't. What matters more is sitting there when you're all done with skiing and being able to say "I love my family and friends and I was able to spend time doing what I love most as a career".

well put but either way i still think what hes doing for our sport is good thing. Id like to see our sport become more mainstream and legit. Gives me more pride to say im part of the sport. Cuz sometimes i like to play up the fact that i golf more htan i ski to like older people and w/e.

Then he goes into like church photos or whatever casue im sure hes just soooo religious. Hes all like, "im so blessed blah blah blah." But Ill give him some credit casue he does some SICK FRONTFLIPS all day.

i don't know him and i don't want to after watching any video segment of him, watching interviews of him on T.V or on the internet Any publicity of him is what im judging my view on him off of, and from what I've seen, hes 100% not a "chill bro."

Some quotes that support my stance to NOT respect Simon (as a person only, all know he is great skier)
1) "I have heard SO MANY big name pros hate on people in the park for using no poles. So dont single out Simon." Other pros do it, so it is ok? NO
2) "Stop the hate," You just endorsed hating on kids with no poles, are you serious?! I agree, I don't like the no poles thing, but the kids who do have fun, so don't fuck with their enjoyment for your own agenda!

Hope he realizes skiing is for LOVE not MONEY no matter what...wonder if he would do it without the $$$ in his eyes, don't think so. haven't seen any example of him doing it for the love of skiing, I see him going after the aspects of the sport that get him paid. I respect Simon the least out of any pros and it is unfortunate he is the one in front of a lot of cameras.
Too bad we can't get some soul skiers in the lime light to bring exposure to our sport
