Despite growing fears that the United States is losing the war on terrorism, President Bush has reclaimed the advantage over his Democratic challenger John F. Kerry as the presidential candidate best able to deal with the international terrorist threat, according to the latest Washington Post poll.

The survey found that 55 percent of all Americans currently approve of the way Bush is handling the campaign against terrorism, up 5 points in the past three weeks. Slightly more than half -- 51 percent -- also said they trust Bush more than Kerry to deal with terrorism

Three weeks, huh? Seems to me some movie came out three weeks ago. It's pretty cool that a lot of American can recognize bull shit and looked for the truth about the war.

Premise 1: Bush has gained 5 more points in his favour regarding terrorism in the past three weeks.

Premise 2: Michael Moore's movie came out roughly three weeks ago.

Conclusion: Bush has gained 5 points as a result of people rejecting Michael Moore's movie.

The point is, the fact that a poll happens to coincide with a movie release doesn't lead to the conclusion that the two have fuck all to do with each other. But since you seem to think that targeting a person's weight is an effective criticism of their political beliefs, I'm not sure I can actually explain the concept of logical cohesion to you...

Canadianskigod, I think the tax cuts Bush did really helped people spend more money and that made the economy better.

As far as schools go. We have horrible school. Georgia is ranked the last, and I live a few houses down from what is probobly the worst elementary school in the US. I think that success in the school system won't come from more money, but from kids trying harder. If more parent's push their kids to do better in school, there will be better test scores. True, more money can hire better teachers, but teachers can't make kids want to learn. Also there is a lot of federal money up for grabs for education, but states aren't claiming it.
