after it's all said and done, unless there is an amazing turnabout of weather, this season will go down as the worst winter ever. the mountain was so deficient of snow this year that is was disgusting. the lone powder day i had this season came after christmas and reminded me of an early november type of day, dust on crust. i still look forward to wsi, but that's the lone bright spot.

it hardly even felt like winter, no hockey, practically no skiing (ok, 17 days to date). other then the brief dumps in december and that prolonged week of snow in the city in january, there wasn't much to cheer about. i still did some good shredding, but that was more personal accomplishment gratification rather then riding good conditions. oh wait, even the park was whack. mostly, i just look forward to hucking huge cliffs into water this summer. it's not as nice as in powder when you get to ride away, but i suppose the bikinis make up for it somewhat.

i have a trampoline this summer and much unexpended energy. plus i'll be home in bc for the first summer in 3 years. if i weren't so confident in having a glorious summer, well... i don't even know what i'd have to look forward to anymore and my world would be a depressing place. fucking shitty ass winter...

yep just had acl surgery so I'm done with winter! however it's snowing today in calgary. figures. oh well summer will come soon enough. and next season will be good no matter what. anything will be good compared to this year.

only good thing left this winter is the WSI, but after that im done with winter...Im not even going to HN this summer! I just wanna surf and push myself in wakeboarding!

hahaha yea man seasons over, went down to the river today cause it was so hot out, planning to jump some cliffs...but oh man that water was like ice

On an unrelated note, I'm working on spending my first summer in Vancouver. It should be a blast. I hear good things about Kits beach.

fuck Dave, 45 days on snow you should be happy. Better than being stuck out here in Onterrible. I've only got 10 days in, not even enough to pay off my 4x4. The mountain better be open for at least one weekend in May, maybe then I'll make it.

And yes, Kits beach is wicked. 3rd and Spanish Banks are sweet too, especially for skim boarding. summer can't arrive soon enough.

summer is pretty much already here. heck, it practically never left. on sunday i was running around barefoot and topless in a grassy field playing ultimate. that's summer.

me and my boys are going to organize an event at lions bay this summer too: the Beachies Classic. we'll only have booby prizes and glory to offer, but it will be sick. we want to have categories for best trick on diving board, cliffs and rope swing. there will also be best male, best female, and best bail awards. it will be sick with a huge crew at the cliffs all throwing down. it's going to happen, i will make it so.

but summer isn't quite here yet. there is still the matter of the WSI to settle. for me and many other whistler boys, it's pretty much the culmination of the whole winter. it's our last hurrah for the winter and we're going to fucking send it high and hard.

on a last note, i'm changing houses and moving to vancouver. the new home is huge and has an inground pool. combine that with the ross bed competition trampoline i already have, the (haggard) 5x10 tramp i'm going to get soon, and some other accesories i'm working on acquiring... i'm going to have some crazy ass parties for sure. no drinking more then a six pack and bouncing though. unlimited amounts of chronic though.

this winter was kinda gay. this summer will be rad.

 
This Beachies Classic you speak of, is that at the cliffs just a little south of Lions Bay along the tracks? Cause if so, that place is fucking sweet.

And yes, sunday was very very depressing, I hit whistler mountain and the only good thing was the few rails they had set up and in the afternoon the one run i did 7 times on the backside of sun bowl cutting down from pika's traverse. And the Ben n Jerrys cookie dough ice cream I had for lunch.

Fuck I just broke out the bmx and shorts yesterday.

Summer is here, but I'm only going to admit it after WSI is over, last hurrah for sure.

just like the winter of 02-03, when you're almost ready to give up hope on the season, ullr pulls through late and dumps on those faithful enough to stick around through the starvation period. i just caught some excellent pow. the question is how much more will it snow?

 
I couldn't ride hard early season cause of my knee, then i broke my wrist and had one pole for awhile, then went home to vancouver for 3 and a half weeks for christmas when whistler wasn't great and the local mtns sucked. had a few good weeks, then a scope so 2 weeks off, and finally acl surgery. i'm sorry if you feel that saying that was a bad season is stupid.
