Thalls or Punx, fairly urget!

Im over in Germany at the moment so decided to finally get myself a set of proper park skis seeing as the prices here are less than half of that in Australia!

I have been skiing for 12 years but only 2 weeks a season with one lucky full season. I can ski anything but have spent all my time out of the park. I have all mountain skis which are just fine and am looking for pure park dedicated skis. After much research I have narrowed it down to either Thalls or Punx. I am 6ft 4 and weigh 200lbs.

I am new to park just being able to do 3´s off 15ft or so jumps but what i want to do is pretty much only rails. I would get the punx in a second due to their raved user reviews but im a little bit worried that they may be too thin under foot. Will be a ratio of 80:20 rails:jumps.

Some advice would be much appreciated and without being a new poster bitching but i only will have another month in Germany so running out of time to make my choice.

Thank you so much for any input!

If I were you I would choose the punx. Only for the reason that they are symmetrical and have extra thick edges for all the rail skiing youll be doing. Either choice is good though as they are boith well built park skis. you should definately be skiing on 181 in either version due to being tall. you cant lose though so buy the better deal.

Cheers for that. Of course 181, even almost small!

That is the problem they are like 5 euro differnce to the thalls. Will having a 5mm wider waist help at all or not really noticable?

Also id love to get some fks 140 L for either. If i get the Punx would a 90mm break be to wide for a 82 waisted ski? almost half a cm each side.

go punx and get 90 mm brakes....u want ur breaks to me within 15 mm of ur waist

so basicaally if ur ski waist is 100 u dont want to get a break of 115

thalls have thicker edges, but punx have supposedly made their edges more durable without the added weight from bulking them up. I dont know about the armadas but I am fairly sure they arent Rockwell so they might not be as good as say a moment ski edge. just a liittle edge input since its going to be a rail ski

Yea was looking at moment they look amazing just their price is also amazingly high and thier availability in europe is small from what i have seen. Will see if i can pick up a pair of jibs as they do look the nices. If not might get the Punx, so much love for them from everyone. With the fks 140 L.

Cheers for the quick replies, quality community I have found here!

I would go punx because they are the lightest park ski that there is which would be nice for rails to throw them around a little but easier.

Quick question myself about Punx so I don't have to make another thread.

I am either getting thalls or punx, I have a pair of thalls right now but i need another pair of skis for my dad's house.

I want punx, but I feel like the 173 is too short, and the 182 is too long.

I am 6 feet, 130 lbs and i might grow a little bit more.

what do you guys think?

oh yeah, I ski about 80% rails, 20% jumps in the midwest

^well i actually don't think th1 182 Punx is to long for you... Actually i believe that would be a pretty nice length! (172 is definitely to short)

but of course, if it feels uncomfortable riding them, you shouldn't do it.

I'm around 5'10" or 5'11" and I ride 181 pipe cleaners and definitely wouldn't want anything shorter. Go for the longer length
