THALL ON RUROC

SEEMS LIKE RUROC IS SPONSORING A LOT OF SKIERS THESE DAYS TO TRY TO CHANGE THEIR IMAGE IF IT MEANS SKIERS LIKE TANNER AND LJ GETTING PAID THAT IS PRETTY COOL
 
Ruroc is supporting the sport and by the looks of it making some cool shit. I never thought I'd say this but I'd rock some of the Ruroc shit I've seen.
 
Ruroc did the opposite of must companies, they targeted the jerrys made bank and now supporting real skiers on real mountains.
 
I don't use one, but the times I have slammed my face, I wish I did!

I think most folks want to be able to get to their faces easier than Ruroc makes it.

As for Tanner, more power to him! Maybe he could ski some places without being constantly "molested" by people.

When you are famous, it happens.

You don't know WTF your talking about. He has years ahead of him in the industry. In what role may be uncertain, but being legend never washes-up.

I think it is common courtesy to make sure to compliment everyone who has a Ruroc helmet. I certainly do it, even going out of my way sometimes and yelling it across the lift line.

That's because everyone with a Ruroc on fucking sucks hahaha. So you want them to remember you so when there gonna crash they don't hit you. Instead they slam into someone else.
 
I think it's awesome ! I sent Ruroc an email and they are going to be releasing there "Lite Series" which looks like a regular helmet, comes in Carbon too ! I'm stoked defiantly copping one once it hits the market. THall was wearing the carbon one a while back

He is Tanners homie and filmer for the FWT! They’re working on a new movie this year and so the kid is traveling with him for the entire tour. Super cool kid and quite smart. Hell of a great filmer too.

If I wasn't at work I would totally Photoshop/GIMP a picture together for this. A nice Ruroc full face helmet setup with them damn Jah Lions all over it, Rastafarian flag colors, and obviously the rest is a grimy orange/red/burgundy/black type of deal. Aka every T-Hall goggle ever.

I wouldn't be seen dead in a Ruroc Helmet personally, but I remember seeing Gus Kenworthy knock himself out on a rail as well as losing his front tooth a couple of years back and wondering to myself, why don't any freeskiers (especially park) wear full face helmets?

Now seeing Tanner getting sponsored... times are a changing?

Oakley is thinking 99.999% of their marketing and sales have nothing to do with skiing
 
Never would've guessed Ruroc moving in this direction, but it makes sense for them to branch out from their core line of helmets to be competitive and keep their business growing. IMO their current helmets are definitely a joke and I can't believe anyone would spend that much on one and wear it in public. That being said, the amount of R&D needed to create and distribute the full face shows they've got funding...and the fact that they're still in business shows they have staying power and have some decent business sense.

With Tanner having 20+ years experience working with Oakley and other helmet companies, this makes a ton of sense. He could not only rep their gear while skiing, he can likely help point them in the right direction behind the scenes (R&D, brand identity, THall line, etc.).

Remember, LINE and Salomon used to make skiboards and Oakley made those hideous sunglasses that brought a ton of negative press. If he can stay on course and not piss off another sponsor, I can see a lot of good things coming from the partnership and everyone having a new perspective of Ruroc in the future.

From a marketing sort of standpoint, this pairing seems awkward. The two don't go together. If seems unnatural and forced. Like both sides are trying too hard. Ruroc has a totally different steeze from Tanner.

But, whatever. Tanner Hall is great so I hope he pulls a lot of dough out of the deal.
