TGR Light the Wick on itunes

Just bought it on iTunes, finished watching it...
TGR movies have always been some of my fav for the big mountain/backcountry scene... and they have my fav riders (sage, seth, sammy ect..)
Some sick riding in this flick for sure, not as good as past years in my opinion tho cause some of the editing was alittle wierd and some filming so-so... it was weird cause some segments (Sage's comes to mind) were had really good editing and filming and others just felt choppy, or cut short.. also didn't have too many rider segments which i thought was a bummer... would have liked to see a seth segment and wylie miller again this year... could have done with fewer location segments.. many of which were just mello pow runs... i'd rather see for bad ass skiing...which pretty much everyone on their line up can do. still tho... solid big-mountain/B.C. film... as normal no urban (i think there were 2 rail shots, 1 park shoot).
Worth the money on iTunes, if you have it to spare... overall so-so, but there are some really cool segments, Sage's spine wall to natural Crevasse gap (he rodeo's, or flatspin's over it... or something.... not good with telling what tricks are) was super sick...
thoughts from others who have seen it?

you pretty much summed it up.

Re:sessions was insane though especially when you throw guys like Wiley to mix up the all out helicopter-big mountain lines.

They have the talent like MSP, its just about getting all those crazy angles like The Way I See It did.

and drop the 16mm TGR. You don't see professional photographers shooting on film anymore. Its an outdated look that I don't care for

I thought it was sick. I like big mountain stuff, so the lack of rails and urban is a plus for me, I just fast forward over that stuff anyway.

The AK footage was awesome, and so was the Jackson backcountry footage. Seth killed it, but did not have any giant AK front flips a la Re:session or Under The Influence. He threw some big backs, and a really sick Lincoln in Jackson, but nothing quite like the last two years. He did hit up some sick AK lines though. Ian Mac killed it, both in BC and AK. Dana Flahr was awesome, a really cool opening segment. Sammy Carlson was sick, he is really developing. I don't seem him as a candidate for best male performance yet, he was nominated last year and may again be, he needs to get better in big mountains. Daron Rahlves had a couple of sick AK lines, I would have liked to see more out of him. Callum Petit and Kye Peterson have short, but cool segments. Sven Kuehle, someone I had never heard of, really throws down too.

For me, Sage was the highlight. He destroyed some spine walls, and mixed tricks into big lines. I would give him the best performance of the movie, and maybe the season.

I liked The Way I See It a bit better, but this is still a great movie. I rank it about even with Re:session I guess, but not quite as good as Under The Influence. Having said that, Under The Influence might be my favorite movie ever, so that is hard to live up to.

I definitely agree with the fact that the editing was a little strange, but I can't blame them for trying to get away a little bit from their same old formula. Sage is an absolute animal. Not only does he make everything look so smooth and easy but he now skis as fast and aggressive as anyone else on the planet.
TGR's lineup is completely unmatched as far as big mountain is concerned. MSP's lineup is close but if you look at the shit that the TGR guys skied in Petersburg, it's just so damn gnarly and steep. Also has anyone else noticed that whenever Dylan Hood and Dash Longe go somewhere in Europe it always snows more than it has in the past fifty years? Lucky bastards. Also would have liked to see more of Kye Petersen and Callum Pettit.

I love hearing this BS. Those of us who pre-ordered the film STILL don't have it, yet I can go download it for way cheaper on itunes. Great job TGR....

That's pretty weak customer service.... just about as weak as the actual film itself. TGR has a big budget compared to most companies. To bad they don't do anything worthwhile with it.

What was Ian MCintosh's part like? that guy fucking kills it definitely my favorite big mountain skier.

And is it worth the HD 2 bucks more?

Still waiting for it in the mail ships on Nov. 8 (supposed to ship a month ago)

anyways I can't wait to see it. I'm sure it will be insane on a big screen

Definitely worth for HD, that being said I was more impressed with MSP's editing of The Way I See It. Some of the lines Seth does are just mindblowing, and I loved the Jackson Hole Segment. I thought it was worth my 10 bucks, but really can't wait for Eyetrip, although EDIAS just gets me so stoked to ski.

Sage and Sammy both killed it hard. Also, crazy steep shit as always with TGR.
I do agree that some of the editing was a bit weird. The last song of jumping has some really nice shots, but it's all like half speed so it goes way to slow. Maybe if you were watching in 3D it would be better. And TGR always has the "we're so hardcore" vibe in the athlete/director interviews. It gets a bit tiring.
Pretty standard TGR- Incredible skiing. A little weird with the production.

ok so i just watched it and right before the park shoot i got really bored with the movie but all of sammy's segments blew me away he really stepped up his game this year! cant wait to see for what he has in store for revolver!!!!
