Fuck that shit.

I didn't even know that Utah already permitted it or that Colorado Universities have the choice to allow concealed carry-ons on campus.

The limitless amount of scenarios where this shit can go wrong...
 
i dont think it's as big of a thing to fear as some people make it out to be, guess this will be an interesting experiment
 
Not a big deal...People that have carry permits must go through training, testing, and before a panel to establish if they are responsible enough to carry. The people you should be worried about carrying guns on campus are the ones who wont have carry permits. Many of my friends including myself have carry permits and we all excerise extreme caution when carrying. If a crazy man started shooting up your class and a fellow classmate put him down you would have a different opinion. It isnt gonna be the wild west in schools now so dont sensationalize it.
 
even if there was a concealed carry rule, would that really stop a insane man to carry a gun on campus?

im sure he would be like "ohhh, it says i cant have a gun, i better go get a knife instead"
 
Its not the people woth CWPs that you need to be worried about. Its the people who don't- they are the ones who are going to obtain a firearm through other means than a background check and cause one of you so called "limitless amount of scenarios where this shit can go wrong... "
 
it is incredibly hard to get a pistol permit in NYS, and this is your right. and yet, to get a drivers license you can basically be half retarded, and this is a privilege, NOT A RIGHT.

the system is flawed. i say yes to allowing people to carry weapons, it is our right after all, and the insane amount of classes and hurdles that you have to jump over is enough.

if someone is gonna shoot someone, u can bet that a rule to not allowing guns on campus isnt gonna do shit
 
if someone is gonna shoot up the school, theyre not gonna be too concerned with concealed carry laws and whether or not they are allowed to carry on campus. america was founded on guns and it is unconstitutional to prohibit licensed gun owners to carry on campus...that being said i think it needs to be waaaaay harder to get a concealed carry permit

someone wants to bring a gun on campus to have a shoot out, they are going to whether or not they are allowed to by the state or not but you can bet your ass that they will rethink that decision when they know any other student out there could have a gun on them and drop them right away
 
The more people on campus who are trained to carry concealed firearms the safer I would feel. Never going to happen up here in Canada though.
As long as there are weapons on this Earth (from bats to pistols) there will be people who want to use them for harm. If there are more people who want to prevent that by any means necessary im all for it.
 
It is news, isn't it? I care because it's a policy that in my mind should not exist. Permit or no permit, once you snap, you snap - no psych evaluation can prevent it from possibly happening. If you happen to have a firearm handy, then ain't that dandy.

because there are so many other scenarios....just spitballin' here but imagine if a unstable kid with a gun gets into an argument with a professor about grades or something
 
Although not a fact, many school shooters have left a suicide note beforehand, meaning they were ready to go out guns blazing in the end, do you really think it matters to someone like that if it's one person they cap or 30 before someone shoots them down - be it the cops or a fellow student/teacher.
 
Ya and instead of taking 30 before swat gets there they may only get a few the point is, it increases the level of safety on campus. U wouldn't understand that bc u live in a different culture. Ur point is mostly invalid
 
Well, I happened to talk about this with my buddies hailing from Colorado and Texas today and they thought it was fucked up as well - no cultural barrier present, my friend.
 
wow all you kids are fucking rediculous. i was in the dorms first semester at Utah this year. yea you can have guns. no one gives a shit. if you have a concealed weapons permit, and you show off your gun. your breaking the law.

there was not one issue with guns in the dorms when i was there. fuck i didnt even know anyone with a gun in their room anyway.
 
Alright simple question, if you could obtain a conceal carry permit and you knew there was the possibility of some crazy dude that could walk up into your classroom and start firing. Would want to have a gun? Cause you can bet your ass I would, Im not trying to die while im in college.
 
Yes, but generally people who go out of their way (and pay the fee) to LEGALY carry gun, do so with the intent of continuing to carry out their law abiding lives. Those who want a gun for illicit purposes generally don't bother with the CCW.
 
what you don't understand is that no law is going to prevent a criminal from carrying an illegal firearm, however, if that criminal knows that any person around him could have a legal concealed firearm, you bet your ass they're going to think twice about what they plan to do with that weapon. And say they do decide to either shoot or attempt to shoot someone, who's to say that the kid walking behind them doesn't have a concealed gun that he could use to take out the shooter and put an end to the situation before it gets out of control.
my second point is that people with concealed carry permits don't just carry to protect themselves in a dangerous situation, they carry to protect pussy motherfuckers like yourself who wouldn't have a fucking chance if someone had a gun pointed at you. think about that.

If, in addition to thinking that this allowed CCW on campus is utter bullshit, being entrepreneurs and supporting free market values WHILE getting free health care and all necessary benefits under their belts makes them socialists, then yeah, guess so.

Yep, especially the illegals.... My good friend got his CCW immediately upon moving to AZ. Just a few weeks ago someone help him up at knife point, he calmly told dude he was going to grab his wallet, but instead pulled out his .45 Homeboy just said "sorry" and got the fuck out of there. CCW - 1 Criminal - 0
