Good infrastructure??? Brother it gets cold down there and all the electricity goes out lmao.

"Each of the ranked dangerous states had above the national rate of 334 violent crimes reported per 100,000 in 2021. According to the list, Texas had the highest number of violent crimes committed last year, totaling over 115,000 crimes, and led the nation in murders at nearly 2,000. The Lone Star State ranked 11th on the list of most dangerous states, with 391.1 crimes per 100,000 people.

Texas also had the ninth highest poverty rate in the nation in 2021 at 14.2%"

I may be midwest but at least I ain't Texas. Texas is Montana if Montana sucked.

I can take a pause on insta stalking for this ?Fuck texas. Nothing says rich in culture like a governor who withdrew funding and put a stop to state colleges with diversity, equity and inclusion offices. its so welcoming there coming fresh off the heals of a year with record antisemitic incidents. Also the skiing is trash and all the girls look the same with pounds of makeup.

only good thing about texas is that their people come up to the mountains and off load all their cash on their vacations and leave. Im sure they would still do that as their own country though. Oh and kill tony is in texas

All those numbers are part of the lore, everything's bigger in Texas including the statistics. Last winter there was no major power outages though. I often drive Colorado 82 wishing Texas had built it because then we would have off ramps, on ramps, underpasses and our speed would be a based 75 mph not 55.

This thread has really gotten out of hand. I just wanted to talk about how nice Texas can be not debate what state best with a bunch of old heads. Moving forward let's do better!

Nah man California is one of the most beautiful states I’ve ever been to. The nature there is unreal (and they have mammoth/most of Tahoe). Plus their gdp is 5th largest in the WORLD. Yeah it’s annoying Californians overrun other states but that’s what happens when your state population is bigger than Canada’s, your country is a country of 320+ million with no restrictions on movements, and the fact that Cali was cheaper than places like Ohio in the ‘50s. Of course millions of people migrated there then.

People in the south make the exact same complaints about northerners moving down south as Colorado makes about Californians.

Texas would be dank af if the summers weren't so fuckin hot. A ton to do down there. Get me a wakeboat and a couple hundred acres to build a motocross track and I'm down af to move

This is a ski site. You can't ski in Texas. All ski towns hate Texans.

That's a common thing that happens with all rivers, dead bodies just kinda accumulate in them. The floating barrier and razer wire are just an environmental project the fish really like it.

Also really two bodies isn't a lot of bodies compared to some rivers. The Ganges is full of bodies and has been for at least a millennium it's like a ritual to honor Vishnu, the same thing is probably going on in Texas. You shouldn't feel unwelcome at a river just because it might have a body in it.

If Texas is the best state, why are your tourists and 2nd home owner the worst?

I just tried to help be nice to a Texan who was double parked, diagonally, with Texas plates and no permit, that he was going to be ticketed if he keeps his car in the private lot that has two huge signs denoting it as such. And his response was to swell up his chest and scream, "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

Am I supposed to care? Dawg, I was just trying to help you. No need to be a jackass about it

The style of Texas I'd want to see is one where it had to be officially part of Mexico again.

1. This is a ski website. Of course we'll bring up skiing

2. I'd like to see the style of texas that doesn't strip women of their bodily autonomy, or the style of Texas that doesn't put literal death traps in rivers, or the sstyle of Texas that doesn't ship migrants to the doors of opposing politicians out of political spite with no regard for the humans they're impacting

1. This is non ski Gabber

2. Really sounds like you just want to strip Texans of their freedom to take away other people's "rights". Doesn't seem very Texan tbh I don't think they would be down for all that. Also as we already agreed on this, Texas rivers are rather safe compared to many rivers. Calling them death traps is just your personal bias coming out.
