Teton Touring People

I know it's waaaaay early but we've got a tiny bit of snow on the hills and I'm starting to get the itch to do painful things with skis on my back.

Just moved to Driggs and I'll be wandering around down here as much as possible this winter. I'm always down to walk up things and I'd be stoked to take pictures of any of you fine folks as well, so hit me up if you want someone to document your rad-ness. I'd also really like to get into the mountaineering side of things more so if anyone has the desire to pass on some knowledge I'd be happy to pay you in hoppy beverages and documentation.

And to all you non Teton Touring people, we've got a couch and a spare room, and I'm always stoked to meet more skiers, so if you happen to be coming through, just let me know and I'd be happy to chase you around desperately waving my camera.

Thanks and pray for snow!

I'd be honored to drive over the past to ski with you!! Or host you on our side and sneak you in the tram and over to Cody peak :D

Ugh applied for a job in Driggs but no luck...

Currently living in Lewiston but considering making the move over to the Teton region for the winter

Family Dollar is hiring...

But really, I'm from Moscow, so I guess I wont make any Lewiston jokes, but dang.... yeah, make the move, it's so worth it!

I was going to start a Wydaho BC thread and am glad to see there's already one on here. Snowing again, so here's a thread bump. It seems most JH folks don't post on here often but maybe that will change going into mid winter now. And hopefully there's a bunch of you who just lurk the site sometimes like me and just found this AT/BC and Regional sections.

This is my fifth winter living in Jackson. I ski all day on weekends and most weekday late afternoons post work. Happy to show peeps some mt Glory lines and quick tours on the pass or even GTNP later this season. Or big lines off the tram once conditions calm down a bit. Stay safe out there gang

This will also be my 5th year in the hole.

I haven't been out touring much this season due to the complex snowpack, how good the resort has been riding (didn't wait in a single line this morning even though it was knee deep everywhere) and the fact that I just dropped into a new RMK pro.

Anyone else own a snow pony? You can find me up phillips a couple times a week. Been wanting to venture over to the Idaho side of the tetons though.

Sick! I'm snagging dawn laps on the pass before work pretty often, and then bigger days in the park as much as possible

Snowpack is reasonably interesting at the moment though so I've been staying inbounds a fair bit

Nice! Can't wait to do pass laps all the time. In Feb I can do dawn patrol on glory and some sunset laps too. Then once the time changes early March I'll go up the pass after work almost all weekdays. I'm currently struggling with double workload til I hire someone, so only skiing weekends and not-often-enough late afternoons.

Snowpack... so sketchy right now. Inbounds and some slackcountry at best. Tomorrow and Friday are gonna be scary with warm bluebird possibly above freezing temps in the afternoons. I'm almost okay with not having the option to ski cody til saturday. Almost

I skied the crags this morning and had possibly the best line of my season (kicking myself for leaving the action cam at home).

I'm sure things are starting to stabilize a bit, but my desire to ski cody is pretty low. Four Shadows and No Shadows (maybe even Once and Twice) are fine, but I won't be going out onto pucker face until I see the whole thing tracked out. I'm pretty sure there has only been one person dumb enough to go down it so far this year.

I saw those tracks, they went down in December when it was sketchy as hell. Insane. Fairly certain it was the "all you people who ski the pass and the village are blowing it" dude. Happy to see a JH BC thread on here.

Skied Mavericks today. Snow. In all of my facial orifices. Tasty.

South to South East facing aspects have some pretty funky snow. North facing stuff is seeming pretty good to go though. Pits on North facing stuff have been very solid, even on a few considerable days when South facing stuff is incredibly touchy. See what this crazy warming does though.

Nice, North aspects of phillips ridge were DEEEP yesterday.

Had first tracks down the crags today... the top was a bit wind blown but still pretty damn good...
