I've never even seen someone driving a telsa. How do they have money?

I've literally seen over 50 driving around in VT this summer. You can get the base model for around 30k...

They went broke a while back I thought? Then somebody bought them and they are doing much better now. Tesla is badass and I would drive one in a heartbeat.

Elon Musk bought it and ironmanned it.

The 30k model 3 will not be out until 2017. Right now, base cost is 57k.

Not broke, but within months of it. Musk has been Tesla since a year after they were founded in 2003 and has been with them since. They almost died in 2008 if I recall. Musk sold his house and lived in his neighbors basement to keep them alive.

In Baerum, Norway Tesla S is the most sold car model. They are literally everywhere; you can even take a Tesla cab.

I used to like the looks of them, (model s) but the design is really boring. Everyone and their grandma has one in Norway.

And you can't put a roof rack on the model X, it comes with a stupid looking rack to put on the tow hook.

I see one or two everyday when I first saw one drive near my house I was excited but they're damn common. Still not a fan of electric cars at all.

I've seen more ferrari's than Teslas. Maybe they're not a popular car in Toronto? Even though there is a tesla shop next to where I work.

I was able to ride in one this summer. really a solidly built car and the acceleration is amazing. Providing that they get a little cheaper and their charging stations become more common they will be unstoppable in the future.

Dude I'm not against your opinion but as society, sooner or later we will have to had that way. No more car contamination in the big cities, I bet the health improvements would be noticeable.

I guess it varies in areas but I see them very often, I live around a rich area so I see nice cars like BMWs, Audis and big luxury cars a lot.

Congratulations? You want a fucking medal?

No not really, no idea why you're getting so upset. I see fewer and fewer Ferraris and Lamborghinis every year people are starting to gravitate more towards Maseratis Aston Martins audi r8 Corvettes Bentleys and those disgusting 4-door Porsches. There's a Ferrari and a Lamborghini dealership less than 30 minutes from my house. I maybe have seen 5 the entire summer.

It's way more complicated than just having every car on the road be electric though. Whenever that happens there's increased battery and power production to supply those cars, neither of which are always the cleanest process. But surely those fronts will progress to a better state in the future. Shit, in my province I think all of our power is from hydro-electric dams, and we even have a surplus of energy to sell off. So there's definitely better ways of doing it.

Personally I'm most hyped for drivetrains being like this:

The vast majority of mechanics I know right now harp on me for thinking electric is great. Really though it fucking is great. Look at that picture and tell me how that's more complicated or difficult to work on than any of today's combustion engine cars that mostly rely on hundreds of moving parts regulated by hundreds of sensors and several computers.

The torque output of an electric motor is beastly in comparison as well so, it's not like performance will suffer. If we can just figure out how to deliver compact high capacity batteries then shit will be amazing.

not until the model 3 will they be that cheap. Right now I think they start at like 70k. That being said there are about a million of them in denver.

This is what I'm most excited for. The combustion engine is great and all but a contained explosion is a bit hard to work with and you have a transmission for gearing ratios and all... the tesla doesn't have a transmission and it has way less parts to be broken overall and you're not tackling the engineering challenge of containing an explosion. The parts certainly won't suffer the wear that doing so puts on them.

I think they are extremely boring to drive i just don't like the whole one gear thing just takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. Also the gullwing doors on the model X wtf is that it just looks mega stupid.
