So what's the deal? For you that voted for Bush because he has morals and fights terrorism...are you serious? You really think terrorism is a problem? Do you realize Bush has shifted the focus of this country from welfare, budget deficit, foreign relations, AIDS, etc. to TERRORISM? I was watching an advertisement for Pete Coors here in CO and one of his slogans is helping fight terrorism right here in CO. I am dumbfounded. Terrorism is not a problem, it should never have been a problem and it will not be a problem in the future unless George Bush keeps on making it a problem by having it be the sole focus of everything he does. Jesus Christ here people I feel like I'm yelling into the dark at a brick wall. I cannot believe some of you voted for George Bush

I agree with you that pete coors will not be able to fight much terrorism here in colorado, and I am not losing sleep in fear of being killed by a terrorist, but 9/11 was a problem. you have to agree with me there.

you should all fucking calm down about 9/11. yes it was a unjustified tragedy, and whoever was responsible for it should be suitably punished. but America has been responsible for far more unjustified deaths that occurred in 9/11, so logic dictates that whoever was responsible for them (the Bush administration???) should be punished more severely.

The 2003 U.S invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq has so far cost the Americans roufly 150billion dollers to pay for the occupation and reconstruction of the countray of Iraq, all in the name of 'the global war on terror' (which is not even proper english... we cant fight terror, we can fight TERRORISM.) If the Amrecans had spent there money in a different area, they could have earned a lot of international goodwill and there by weekening the support if thise who might take arms against them? here is the estimate cost in Us Dollers of various projects the Americans could of taken:

-27billion/year: this would pay for the treatment and prevention services in developing countries for hiv/aids, tuberculosis, and malaria, eliminate death and suffering from infectious diseases and nutrictional deficiencies, resulting in 8million lives being saved each year.

-6 billion/year: This would result in every child on this planet having a basic education

-6 billion/year: This would provide health insurance to every child in America who presently has none (about 20 million kids)

this 39billion alone would have made many around the world grea admirers of the U.S. At present its Forigen aig is barley over .1% of GDP making it by far the least generous country among the rich nations of the world.

You lose all respect from me when you say 'terrorism is not a problem.' Try telling that to people who have lost loved ones in terrorist attacks.

With that said, there are other issues out there, but i dont think they are being ignored.

 
I was wondering if any one else here thinks that we are fighting terrorism the wrong way. Instead of using our conventional army against the unconventional terrorist, we should use all that money to try and figure out why these people hate us so much and figure out what we could do to stop this hate. There is a fundamental ideology in the Middle East that WE(the U.S.) are the terrorist. I am a firm believer in isolationism in regards to the Middle East. They hate us for getting involved and choosing sides. Why not just get out of there and sotp policing the world and let them do what they feel is best. Would we like it if a European Union came into as an occupying army and said that George Bush could no longer be president because he is not supporting the rest of the world's views regarding terrorism? We can not afford to fight this war one country at a time, like Bush and Kerry want to. Our special ops missions that are hunting for Osama and the rest of his legions are much more succesfull then most believe. We have been very close, and I believe we will get him and the rest of the top-tier officials in Al-Queda in the next 4 years regardless of who was president. A mass scale attack on a country is not the way to fight terrorism, we must win their hearts and minds before we win this war.

Actually no I am not. I have a great deal of respect for the religion, but I have no interest in joining it.

What I would like to know is how you think that killing innocent people in a part of the world where the news they get is extremely biased is going to help us any. You think we can afford to go country to country and tell these people what to think? I would like to hear your plan for fighting this war on terror?\.

I think that there is no war on terrorism, I think it has switched to a war on countries that are out of control. I think that the entire world needs to fix these problems.

i could be walking across the stright on my way to class and get smashed by a truck but you dont see me declaring war on truck drivers do you? you cant prevent bad things from happening. if people want it to happen, theyll make it work. you're life is in NO immediate danger from terrorists. im quite certain a plane crash is more likely than your ever being caught in a trerorist situation... that is unless bush instates a draft...

terrorism is not a major problem. i feel bad for the people that died but that does not justify killing over 1000 more americans(the soldiers) and killing 100000 iraquis. bush just makes everyone afraid of terrorists so he can control you. you realize he cant pass anything himself unless he declares a state of war. then he has all power. by the time that power goes back to the senate (80 days i think) he is able to convince the senate to keep us in iraq, because they need to be rebuilt. hes jsut there for oil and if you doubt that you are ignorant. more people die from cigarettes, by far. almost any thing that can kill you kills more people than terrorism in the united states
