let her die how? her brain stem (which controls body functions) was still in working order so she could breath on her own, ect. only thing she couldnt do was eat so the only way to "let her die" was starving her. anything else would have been "killing her" and would have had so many reprocussions.

im glad she died. I was on the Husbands side all along. I think that when you get married your responsibility is to your wife or husband first and then to your family. so her husband who lived with her should have more right over his wifes body then her parents. especially since she told him that she didnt want to live as a vegetable.

 
In hospice training we learn that people who are in late stages of terminal illness will automatically start to refuse food and drink. It is a bodies natural reaction to prepare for death.

It is not necessarily a cruel thing to stop feeding a dying patient. Lack of food and water sends the person into a euphoric state, not a painful death.

I don't think the Terry would be suffering any more than normal by having her feeding tube removed.

 
She was PCS and couldn't feel anything anyway. They also gave her morphine just to make sure. It was the previous 15 years that was torturing her.

what if her parents were right and she was perfectly aware, but just couldnt make any expressions or communication?

she would have been stuck in a shell of a body in a hospital room for 15 YEARS.

what kind of mad fucking tourture is that. no sane person would want to wish that kind of hell upon anyone, so just incase she was aware then she should have been put to rest a long time ago.

this country has one wierd aversion to death. i mean its the most natural part of life, and yet we try to cheat out of it every chance we get instead of just enjoying the life we have.

This is why it's extremely important to have it well documented with all of your loved ones how you wish your affairs to be handled.

Sometimes family members want so badly to keep their loved ones around it makes it even more difficult for the person who is dying.

Instead of being able to let go, many terminally ill people try to hold on so they don't disappoint their family.

It's never too early to make sure your wishes are known before you are in a position where you can't express them.

 
i would hate to be like that. just give me some morphine and take me off the tube. he should have just let the parents take care of her
