Tentative to hit bigger jumps

snoqualmie’s the closest resort to me at about an hour away and they have a sick park with some decent sized jumps, but i’m honestly a bit scared to try anything on them. i saw some dude hit a 3 and a cork 7 while i was on the lift so they’re plenty big. i can only do 3s and have only ever tried on the jumps in the small parks at the resorts i’ve been to, but i’m worried i’ll catch an edge on the landing of one of the bigger ones and make something twist a way it’s not supposed to and smack my head on the ground. is this just part of the learning process and do i just need to go for it and stop being a pussy?

Idk. Tbh there isn’t such thing as being a pussy. Some people just become more analytical about certain aspects than others and in turn, overthink things which hinders their ski ability in some regards and improves it in others. Just tone back and act as though you’re confident but still loaded with fear and just go for it. You already know that speed is your friend and you’ve been in the air before and most definitely have skied steep runs being at snoqualmie. Just put those together and you’ll be fine. Something I’m working on too. Don’t give in to the hills intimidation imo. Ask a friend to film. That way you get a good shot no matter what. A neat crash or a steezy stomp.

I’ve skied that park for 20 years. It’s fine dude not that many people are spinning off their biggest jumps. Just lap it and have fun if you get confident in your repetition and see what happens.

This. Do just like you did in the small parks. Start with straight airs and progress when you feel like it.
