So I am looking at getting the teneighty gun to replace my pistols. Has anyone ridden them in demo or anything. Does anyone know if they are exactly the same as the pocket rockets? or has the construction changed?

actually come to think of it, it would be pretty cool to have skis made of poo.....it would be pretty akward when you sit on the lift with strangers though.

well the keys are like right next to each other, so its a common typo.

So what problems have u had w/ pocket rockets? or is this typical newschoolers bias shit talk

 
shit talk. I have never skiid them. I know more than three people who have skiid them though, I know one who has broken 3 pairs in one season too. they are soft, and weak.

ive ridden them a couple of times and liked them. they ar esoft, but ive been riding seth pistols, which are suuuper soft.

 
the Guns wont be as fat as the Seth Pistols so thats something to consider. ive never ridden them but the new 1080 line is much better this year. i do have the foils and they are solid and hold up well. they are a step below the guns though with only an 85 waist

I kno theyre not as wide, but the diff is 5 millimeters, which for me is no biggy. The pocket rockets were a much more versatile ski than the pistols, which is y im looking into them.

Any moer pros or cons of the guns?

all they are is a pocket rocket and ride just as bad as a pocket rocket, if you wanna get somethin from salomon get the big gun, they're way cooler. and ride way better adn wil lbe alot more like your pistols

Ok the guns ARE the new pocket rockets, same dimensions and lengths just different grapphics. I skied pocketrockets for half of last season, I can say they are a great ski for making pow turns but too soft for charging (in my opinion) I think they are very durable skis though, I beat the living fuck out of them and they didnt break (dropping cliffs onto rocks n shit). But there are better skis out there.

^there are GUNS, and S-LAB GUNS...the S-LAB GUNS are waay sicker. GUNS/Pocket Rockets are gayer than two men performing falacious on each other.

Yeah S-Labs guns are sick, but they only come in 188cm and they are really expensive, which will turn a lotta people off. I think I'm gonna snag up some b4's personally.

don't know. but if you are not rich and want to keep your skis for a long time, try something else. Salomon is not very , very durable

Well im not fussed about keeping them for super long, prolly two seasons b4 i replace them.

I really want to get the gun lab, but they ARE a grand, which is....really expensive, but they are alot more thrashable than the gun

haha yes there is, foam if more predictable but softer, lighter (you decide wether thats a good thing) and easier to break, while wood is heavier (in my opinion good) and much more durable, and stiffer, but less predictable.

...foam isnt necasserily softer than wood. it can be depending on the density of the foam, and the flexibility of the wood. I.e. the pistols, and teneightys the pistols ( from 3 years ago w/ the pink bases) are suuper soft, and....wood core! and durability differences are minimal. lie i said 0.5% dexterity.

Wood core skis will give you about 150 days skiing. And foam about 148 days

u shud really look into other skis, there are alot of other pow skis out there that are cheaper and will work for the park, im not sure how much the gunbs cost but im guessing in the 600-700 $ (U.S) range. for that price you could go with the elizabeths, jp vs juliens, arvs, seth viscous, scratch bcs, and there are others, and ive heard better things about the skis ive listed than the PRs.

in all seriousness.. how can you go that high on a tree without pooping

I would just stay away from the whole Salomon line up and buy a different brand if I were you...plus the graphics are so bad on Salomons this year.

ive ridden the foils and they were dope.. the salomons r good skis man people just like to bash salomon.. the new skis r durable sammy c went through only 1 pair the whole season skiing like every singly day

 
Yeah i agree, and think that people just like to bash salomon for some unknown reason. But i'll see if I can demo them before i make a decision

 
People just like to jump on the band wagon.. If you want opinions on a ski research it outside this site. Unless people say they have skied them and have feedback to post.. not just "salomon is gay" or something like that because that means jack shit. I had 1080's back in the day and they were fine. Havent skied the guns yet but i'm sure they are fine.

Gun is identical to Pocket Rocket, except with new graphics, so you may as well buy PR's for $250 on ebay new. Gun Lab is wider than Pistol but also costs $1000 Canadian, overpriced most would say.

 
uuh yeah I have skiid Salomons and I liked them, but when it came to hitting cliffs and charging just anything, they were complete shit. if they are for pure park, then be my guest, buy from Salomon.

dont mind the guns/p'rockets, but not so much for hitting park/pipe. if you want a park ski, theres no need for it, just grab the 1080's (or even the foils) if u have to have salomon. the rockets go fair sick in the pow and are nice and light for backcountry carrying hahaha. god im a lazy motherfucker.

Skier_bum: If you liked the way PR's rode then you will like the Gun. The flex pattern hasn't been changed. The only real change has been the type of foam: PU has been replaced by a PMI (polymethacrylimide) hard foam which should make the ski more durable than before.

As for the Gun Lab, if you've ridden the 1080 CR Lab, and liked it (flex, speed, and weight), the GL is just a bigger version of it.

 
ya i rode the foil for a good 10 days last season, and i think they were one of the sickest skis i have ever rode. tons of pop, carved like a mother fucker and they were just solid, seriously for you doughters, try the foil, it was really one of the funnest skis i have ever tried and i'm seriously considering to buy them
