If you liked Steep but wished the narrative was more coherent, or actually if you have any interest in big mountain sking and snowboarding, this is definately for you. Some/most/all of the footage is, frankly, mind-blowing. Enjoy! http://vimeo.com/2492092

[]sigh...[/]

before i lose all faith in newschoolers, let me give you a clue. no, there are no rails in this movie. there are no park shots. there are no switch landings. what this movie contains is as follows.

1) some of the best big mountain riding you'll ever see, skiing or snowboarding.

2) massive cliff hucks and flips off said cliffs.

3) some huge, huge lines, ridden by the likes of jeremy jones, manu gaidet, phil meier, xavier de la rue, henrik windstedt, falquet bros.

4) insane pow.

5) sickening bails.

6) without doubt the gnarliest rider-avalanche shot ever captured.

watch the fucking movie!

that was crazy. at first i was like "oh hes fucked", then "no hes gonna get away!!" then "no hes fucked", then "oh he can make it to that spine ridge thing, and be ok", and that didnt work out.... at all

word, imagine the feeling when he got to the ridge, surely thinking he was alright and then the whole fucking lot goes and he realises he's fucked and there's nothing he can do.

hell of an advert for ABS eh?

That was a really really sick movie, i liked it.
But i also like movies i can relate to more. Such as turbo, the massive(sorta), slamnia, PBP movies ect.
This skiing is cool and all and very difficult but the thing is 95% of kids on here probably will never get to go skiing like people in this movie did. It so damn exspensive.

Loved it !! thx for posting

can't beleive that guy made it out of the AVY alive!!

gnarliest thing i've ever seen

no joke, that movie was truly inspirational

like first part of it, where the guy talks about how freeskiing is natural, its what the sport really is, no man made jumps or snow, just you and the natural snow and terrain. That part reminded me why i ski, and how much i love backcountry skiing so much more

much of this was filmed in very accessible lift-accessed terrain in verbier and elsewhere in the alps. its not all super high budget ak heli lines.

and it was free. this movie makes you appreciate skiing/snowboarding that much more. damn that was a huge avy and he lived!

If ABS can save you in a slide of that magnitude then it is truly revolutionary. Honestly that was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen, a two KM rider triggered slide that swallowed up whatt looked like a safe high spine.
