um i dont know if anyone else has notice this or not but there is no registration for telus this year. instead they have replaced it with a team format with a team entry fee of $4000. if there are any spots left open they will be filled with random people who purchase a $5 lottery ticket which will be pulled out of a hat and or barrel on march 7. o and you can buy as many tickets as you want but if you dont win the money goes to charity (ie some rich guys bank account). and if your lucky enough to win you still have to pay an entry fee. THIS IS FUCKED, has it always been like this? i dont get it.

thats pretty fucked up. i somehow paid for the lottery slots a couple days ago (when the store thing was up) but i had no idea this was the case. what the fuck are they thinking?

As a company, Telus does some very shady, unfriendly, nasty things, while their profits continue to increase along with their market share and stock price. All of which keep their shareholders very happy. And, it will continue to do so, and there isn't really anything that will stop it.

But, as far as the WSSF is concerned, they are simply the platinum sponsor and likley have nothing to do with planning the format of the event. So, not really the culprit in this case.

Telus sponsors the Canadian Ski Team too. Other than money, all the team members get free cell phones and unlimited calling from anywhere to anywhere. That's the only good thing I have to say about Telus...

Their customer service, internet, and cellular rates blow. At one point a year ago I think my cell bills were like $400+ a month and they couldn't put a decent package together for me, to include long distance and roaming for when we compete back east or in the states. Highway robbery indeed. I'm not even going to start on their customer service... I'll lose sleep over it.

Remember when the CRTC was gonna fine Telus millions due to ridiculously ludicrous wait times for horrible customer service? I do!

But this isn't Telus' fault, they just pay far too much money to be the title sponsor for WSSF. W1 productions or whoever puts the event on is to blame.

And fuck I hate Telus. Let me tell you about Telus DSL....
