Telluride Terrain Park Manager-Job Opportunity

What's Good NS?

Just wanted to put this rad opportunity out there for anyone who may be interested/qualified. Telluride is looking for a new Terrain Park Manager for next season, unfortunately our old manager (IG: @jibmasterchris) who is one of the best in the game made the difficult decision to step down for undisclosed reasons. I'm really bummed to see him go and am hoping we can find someone good, experienced, and worthy enough to fill his shoes.

Telluride is widely known for being a ritzy destination resort home to some of the gnarliest in-bounds steeps in the nation, but we have a dope park scene here that I would hate to see go down the tubes. Despite us having one of our worst winters on record in terms of snowfall last season, I had one of the funnest seasons of my life because our parks were some of the best I've ever ridden. Telluride is an amazing place to live/work/play, we have an awesome culture here and Telski takes good care of their employees unlike other resort operators (cough cough Vail Resorts).

As a Telski Employee/local park shredder, I'm just trying to help the resort get the word out in hopes that we can find the right person for the job. I figured NS would be a good platform to spread the word in regards to the opportunity so please feel free to share this thread. If anyone is interested or may know of someone who is, feel free to reach out to me or apply using the link below. If for some reason the link doesn't work, go to the Career & Jobs link at tellurideskiresort.com and navigate from there:
http://chj.tbe.taleo.net/chj05/ats/careers/requisition.jsp?org=TELRIDE&cws=1&rid=472

I would be more than happy to assist the potential candidate in finding housing in the area or to answer any questions about what life is like in Telluride.

Much Love NS!

Oh damn! I wonder where Chris is bouncing too. I meant to stop over there 2 seasons ago when I was back in CO but never made it. I'll let my friends know about the job. He put in some good work and started to get their program really rolling.

Hopefully you find somebody that's super passionate about parks like he was.

I hope so too man, very few people on this earth can work with snow the way he does Telluride lost a gem.

I heard he was heading back to Cali (Mammoth/Big Bear), kinda sounds like he got burnt out from the job. He’s still passionate about parks and said he’ll continue to do park work but exactly where he’s not sure yet. Dude is a master of his craft no doubt, but from my experience he was pretty soft spoken and didn’t have the best people skills which can be troublesome if you’re in a management position.

Not trying to badmouth him though, dude is a fucking legend and will be greatly missed around here.

Sure wasn’t much to manage in January. Might have been one park open at the bottom with a few features? Got a trip planned for the coming season so I’m looking forward to what the new manager dreams up...

Home of Gus Kenworthy too. I remember when his first "day in the park" edit dropped years ago being blown away not just by the skiing, but the level of the park build there.

We actually had 3 different early season parks but had to tear one down because people were bitching that they couldn’t ski directly to Gorrano’s. Considering the fact that we had 19” of natural snowfall through the middle of January, the set up we had was pretty fucking impressive.

Yee not blaming lack of snowfall on you guys obviously. And leave it up to ppl in Telluride to complain that a terrain park is “in there way” lol

That’s a bummer about him leaving. He seemed like he had a good product going there

But seemed like he was working nights. ANd lots of work. Manager should not be doing that. I can understands if he was burnt.

If this was a year-ish ago I’d be interested. But times have changed and the ski biz don’t pay either.

That was the other issue, he would work like 6 graveyard grooming/building shifts a week and still be out riding the next day. Plus he’s got 2 kids so I’m sure family was a factor in his decision to walk away, can’t shame him for that though.

Not sure what the starting salary is, I feel like Telluride pays better than most other resort towns in general but I feel you man. Gotta bring home the bacon somehow
