That would be the difference between petty larceny and robbery. Petty larceny is a slap on the wrists and a fine. Big ticket items would be robbery or pilfering, and would land you in jail
 
as long as he isn't stealing from people just let him be. telling your parents isn't going to do anything except make things worse. he is going to steal shit if he wants to, so you might as well just help him out by telling him to stop stealing from huge stores like wal-mart.

usually steals from smaller places u said. i would tell him to knock it off if he was stealin from like privately own mom and pop shops and shit but walmart? who the fuck cares. like theyll notice 70 bucks in yougio. down with the corporations!
