Tell me your craziest equipment malfunction that you kept skiing with

My zipper once broke off my jacket for some weird reason. Had to ski with an open Jacket all the way down Stratton till I could go down and buy a new one

My bindings havent had brakes all season. Im missing 4 inches of edge right underfoot. Edgecrack on the nose of my right ski caused the edges to rip out 5 inches down either side. and they still ride fine

Oh man there are too many.

Have a pair of demo bindings on my urban skis. They have 4 of the 10 screws in the heel pieces, so they pivot around and release a lot. Ended up sliding PVC, front ski came off early, slid 30 feet with only my boot and back ski.

you broke the same binding 2x this year.....and then bought the same binding? The squire is probably fine for a lil grom who's not pushing it very hard, but even bumping up to the griffin would've been the way to go dude. Buying cheap, plasticky shit just means you'll be buying it more often.

He didnt buy new bindings he just bought new brakes

I put these bad boys together using parts I found and what people gave me. They actually work pretty well.

6 inch segment of sidewall blew out, so I drilled in a drywall screw to keep it in place. Then sawed off the screw head. Skied em for the rest of the season

I bagged myself on a rail and I ripped my snowpants but I was too broke for new ones so I just wore Jean shorts under them for the rest of the season.

On my SPK's I broke that cord used to tighten up the upper part of the boot (Idk what it is actually called) on both boots, so that sucked for awhile until I realised I can replace it with shoe lace.

I have a friend who lost one of his tounges and skied with out a tongue in one of his booters for the majority of the season.

Franken FKS builds are legendary, mine are from 3+ sets spanning around 30 years in history.

Also had my fair share of tip/tail banana peels (5 on 3 pairs of skis), but nothing a few rivets or binding bolts cant fix right?

Or not fix

Good ol Nordica soul riders, got about a foot of edge missing underfoot on each edge, all four tips are missing edge, was hitting rails on it then I blew out about 8 inches of sidewall doing a disaster, but i still rode rails on the core for a month or so before I got new skis. More core shots than I could count and a good size portion of the topsheet straight up peeled off. Fuckin deadly skis though, wish I could still ride them. Snapped a pair of infamous'(obviously) and blew up the heel piece of my pivot 14s but didn't notice for 2 runs, hit rails and everything until it fully gave out

Also didn't have goggles or sunglasses or anything for my eyes for the first 12 years of my skiing career, idk if that counts though
