Its funny that I sit here today randomly logging onto NS for the first time in many many years. I sit here almost 30 years old looking back on things I said our uploaded as a teenager. As a husband and a father all I can say is wow, feeling a little embarrassed and ashamed looking at this thread. What it shows is the pure immaturity and narrow-mindness of a 18 year old kid whose only understanding of the world is that of the small town in which he grew up. This young man clearly had no cultural understanding or knowledge of what diversity and inclusion stands for. I am extremely thankful that I stand here today a completely different person today than I was then. It speaks to what the benefit of going to a university can do for you. Not only is it beneficial for setting up your career for the future, but it gives you the chance to move to an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people and develop yourself and understanding of the world. So cheers to you all old and young, be open minded and tolerant to all those around you, we all are just trying to navigate life as best we can and give our families opportunity to succeed. Hopefully some one out there can benefit from this and change their way of thinking too. Thanks!
