Tell me this doesn't scare the shit outta you.

Skullcandys don't cut it. You have to use really good headphones. I used Turtle Beach X1s and they did the job.

From the idoser site

I-DOSING IS THE USE OF AUDITORY TONES IN AN ATTEMPT TO ALTER CONSCIOUSNESS IN WAYS THAT CREATES A SIMULATED MOOD OR EXPERIENCE, SUCH AS TO MIMIC RECREATIONAL DRUGS. THE TECHNIQUE INVOLVES PLAYING TWO DIFFERENT TONES SIMULTANEOUSLY TO PRODUCE A PERCEIVED TONE INSIDE THE HEAD, IN ORDER TO ALTER BRAINWAVES.

basically an auditory drug.

i did it before at woodward and got kinda spooked

felt as if a bunch of scary dudes in suits were standing around me about to kill me or something

the kid before me almost had a seizure and started crying

my friends and i did this in the summer and one of them was freaking out and it looked like he was fighting off a tiger..but he was asleep

Wow. If you really zone out and close your eyes and listen to that, there is a very noticeable change when you hit 1:50. I got all kinds of nervous and freaked out, turned it off after 15 seconds of that crackling and new noise. Didn't believe it was going to work, impressive.

i feel like idoser just came up with some scientific nonsense and then sold placebo's for the last 2 years and made absolute bank while watching kids freak out and pretend to be high.

I wanna read a legit scientific study done with idoser and a person using it to see what's what.

Cause if this is all bullshit their fuckin geniuses.

I call bullshit. Brain waves=electromagnetic waves (I think) and sound waves are vibrations. I don't think they can alter each other.

Plus, chords in music are "two different tones played simultaneously."

i know that watching a white noise picture along with a repetitive and continous sound (over an extended period) forces the brain to somewhat fill that hole in external information and leads to hallucinations for certain people

Electromagnetic waves encapsulate a very broad thing, but not brain waves. Electromagnetic waves include everything from microwaves, to visible light to gamma radiation, but not brain waves. I think it could work. This seems to make fine sense to me. Same principle as, for instance, suspenseful music in a scary movie, but taken a step further to make the visual part of the equation unnecessary.
