Tell me if i shouldnt be pissed.

i'll keep it short and to the point.

so i'm driving home thru the neighbor hood i live in.

speed limit is 15 mph.

i legitimately checked my spedo, and was going 17mph. not unreasonable.

i get home. and some dudes walking down the street and calls me out like, "hey you!"

and speed walks up to me and starts chewing me out on how fast i was going (already being an asshole)

i replied, saying i understand there's kids in the neighborhood and i looked at the spedo and it said 17mph. at the most"

he was just like "i dont care if you look at your spedo, if you dont slow down there's going to be trouble." yes he threatens me.

i tried talking again and he cut me off and start threatening me again with "there's going to be trouble"

so i just continue walking to my door, say, "k have a good night" and wave him off. and while walking in my door i heard him threaten me again.

honestly, i never go out of 2nd gear on that road, and i drive a 3 cylinder geo. at the very most i've caught myself doing is 20 mph. which is not often. i think the fact that my car is loud, and looks like a piece of crap, they automatically dislike me cuz they're stuck up californian pricks.

but this just really pissed me off. he in no way did it nicely. or even treated me like a person or spoke in a normal voice. and the fact that he threaten me and wouldnt even let me get more than ten words out of my mouth.

did he really expect to get a nice answer??

Just let it go. Yeah, he was a dick, but getting back in his face will do nothing but create unnecessary drama. If he tries to get in your face again, just ignore him, walk in your house, and leave him out in the street feeling like an idiot.
 
he was a dick but let it go. also sometimes when you're in a really low gear even if you're going slow your engine sounds louder to pedestrians. probably why he thought you were going too fast.
 
yeah I would be pissed, but again its the sound thats the problem. I have to put my car in neutral and coast down my whole hill because the mormon neighbors get super pissed about this stuff, and I NEVER go over the speed limit in my neighborhood, and they still get pissed cause it SOUNDS like im going fast. Oh well, like everyone else said not anything to make a huge deal out of
 
I probably would have told him to go fuck himself. In the end it isn't much of an encounter, but I understand why you would get pissed. When people get pissed at me unprovoked (which is rare), I find myself getting heated. It just hits that nerve.
 
No use getting pissed there is nothing you can do about it. Don't piss him off you never know who had a gun.
 
Dude, when some stranger gets in your face the proper response is almost always "Go fuck yourself" you have to realize that unless he's a police officer, he can't do ANYTHING. His word is virtually worthless when it comes to reporting traffic offenses. The only thing you have to worry about is some property damage, but if you know where he lives he's not gonna try anything.
 
I was at a friends house a few years ago with my evo- because there was a bunch of cars over the neighbors were getting pissed- they came over and basically harassed us for having loud cars in the middle of the fucking day-told em fuck off because in all honesty we hadn't even done anything stupid or revved anything- we had been outside installing an intake manifold the whole afternoon and hadnt touched our cars in a few hours- long story short the guy freaks the fuck out- calls the cops- cops come and realized the guy was insane- told us to stay safe and just dont respond to him

he stayed outside until late that night watching us- and I was feeling like a dbag so as we are all rolling out I started into my 2 step- let it sit there and bounce on it and then launched with cold tires-I fucking lit up all 4 wheels and layed down a nasty AWD burnout- he wasnt too happy but I had alrady dipped out

the fact that you let something like this upset you worries me a bit.

in all honesty i think you're just mad that you drive a Geo.

Wait till he goes out to get his mail in the morning and............... stab him in the throat with a rusty screwdriver, then yell TROLOLOLOLOLOL as you run off.

Or put a bucket over his door full of........................................sulfuric acid and scorpions
 
You should be pissed, dude was an asshole. Like people said, if you want to put him in his place then call the cops and report him for harassing you and threatening you. Or if it becomes an issue again just tell him off if he doesn't look threatening.
 
just drive past his house in first gear instead of second. making an unneccesary amount of noise
 
Honestly, I'd be happy. Most neighbors are contempt with calling the HOA and talking through others like cowards. Even though he was mad, he talked to you like a man. Accept this fact. Apolgoize next time you see him, not "sorry for speeding", but more of a "sorry for causing this rift", explain your side, accept his, and try to find a middle ground. It sucks having neighbors that hate you, you hate them. Try to solve it like a gentleman, trust me, it'll work out better for you.
 
haha? are you serious? it's just some grumpy asshole with a chip on his shoulder, oo what a man telling another man how to live! Solving it like a gentleman would have been the other guy minding his own fucking business or joining the police force if he has such an authority complex. The other guy isn't interested in a discussion, just to spout off his mouth like a big bad man. Old guys get like this because no one puts them in line.
 
this. One of my friends has a neighbor that will yell at almost anyone, and its a 25. If your car is loud and/or nicer than his and/or you are a teenager, he will stand in the road and make threats and threaten to call the police. People like these sometimes have reason (like if someone was legitimately cruising down the road), but most of the time the best thing you can do is just nod along and be the bigger person. No need to make a bigger deal out of it, and as tempting as it may be to just go off (because you were right), you should just move on.
 
even if the engine was loud, you can still tell how fast he is going just by looking at him........
