Tell me about amplid provokes and antidogma—is there more durable?

Following my thread on what park skis out there are durable enough to throw a nice season of urban at them and still be able to shred some park without being left with firewood at the end of the season, I found that amplid's provoke and antidogma responded pretty well to my needs in their description, knowing that amplid make some pretty durable skis generally.

However, very little reviews about them (I'm looking at the 13-14 model for both pair) and from what i've understood, antidogma seems more durable, but the provoke were "made" for urban.

So if you know anything about them, post it up! And if you know of any other park ski (below 90 underfoot) that would be more durable on rails and just hard park shredding tell me!

Answer the poll only if you actually know

(and don't tell me that K2 recoils are better, i know they're durable, but too wide for me)

I am very interested in this as well. Not trying to threadjack, but I think its on topic:

How do the Amplid provokes and ON3P FRs compare? which is more durable, which is more buttery etc.

Frs would be more buttery than provoke from what ive seen. Frs might even be more durable, but too wide for me and too pricy for sure.

FRs are easily more durable and more buttery. I wasn't super impressed with the durability on my Antidogmas...but that was back in 2009.

I bought a pair of 2014 Provokes for $180. I haven't skied much park on them yet because I still have AR7's which I use for park but from what I can tell they're a good durability. The edges are thick and the bases also seem to be pretty decent. I skied some pretty rocky runs at Cardrona NZ this year and I got no major damage even though I ran over a couple of rocks. The only thing I could say is that the maybe the top sheets are slightly prone to chipping. I say this because were the top sheet meets the sidewall there is a full 90° angle so the edge (not the metal edge), the edge that connects the top sheet and sidewall is not rounded and is 'sharp'. This may make it more likely to catch and chip, I'm not sure yet though as I haven't skied park or urban on them.

As for actual performance of the Provokes they're awesome. They're light and extremely fun. I can easily flick them around all over the place little 360's and butters are super fun and easy on them. They also carve really nicely on hard pack which was a pleasant surprise I didn't get any chattering even at very high speeds, they hold an edge well.

Finally FR vs Provokes/Antidogmas. You get what you pay for. $600 ski vs $180 ski on special. You could buy three pairs of Provokes or one pair of FR's. No doubt the FR's would probably be a better ski but for the price the Provokes are excellent. And if you're hitting big urban features you will destroy every ski no matter how durable and most skis used for urban and park don't last longer than a season.

I say give the Amplid's a go, for the price they're worth a shot.

Solid post +k

i had the c7 for 4 years and they held up great! but yeah these are different skis from 08/09... but i think amplid makes some quality skis

Thanks for the answer! Yeah i know on3p would be better, but can't find a pair less than 500$ which is way above my price range without bindings. Thanks negromancer, some killer deals on there!!!

Anyone know anything about last season's antidogmas?

In my experience there aren't any brands out there more durable than Amplid, the only brand that even comes close is ON3P. Even the syntax, which seems to be the top of the line performance based ski, has lasted me an entire season skiing 2-3 times a week in an indoor snowdome which wrecks everyone else's skis.
