Telemarking

Not cool yo. You mean to tell me when a twin tip telemarker hits a box on his sticks, and then drops his knee, that that doesn't put us to shame? Nuff said.

Telemark is the best thing that's happened to newschool since the twin tip.

You see someone 270 onto a rail, switch up and reverse 270 off and it's pretty sweet.

Then you see the same thing, with someone freeheeling, and it's godly.

That's why I tele.

I dont know i think it is pretty knarly when a person on a pair of tele's rips it down a face or shredding through bottomless pow.

telemarking is cool in my book

yeah same here. my friends do it and they look so smooth and fluid with every single turn that they make. its just amazing to me

From now on everything is officially gay. That means fixed heal , cable, three pin, your dad and uncle, as well as snowboards and snowskates, bikes, and snowlerblades. But shovelboarding is still sick shit and gnarly as hell too!

tele looks so much more pimp in deep ass pow. I've been tempted to learn but dont really wanna deal with gettin over the learning curve... probably will start eventually though.

not so much in the park though, I tried them for a run and it'd take some gettin used to on rails and switch stuff

Can't really argue with you about the difference between alpine and tele, went straight from boarding to tele and had to learn rails and switch stuff from the beginning.

Telemarkers are tht cool they go hella slow. but tht would be sick if someone could find a video of one grinding a box.

Is that a joke or are you just super ignorant? Good tele skiers can haul just as much ass as an alpine skier.

the first day i skied at squaw when i was a youngin' i was with my brother and we had just unloaded from the kt-22 lift and we were shitting our pants at how gnarly the terrain below us looked. we started to slowly make our way down and out of nowhere this group of tele skiers fucking burns right past us on some shit we could barely navigate. from that moment on, i have the utmost respect for tele skiers.

bahaha true

but it is still pretty sick and it's really really hard to do, and even harder to make it look good.

did someone really just ask to see a tele-er sliding a box? there are a large handful of tele-ers sliding way more than just boxes. see my photos, or any other tele-er on this site. better yet, check out freeheellife.com and go to the media section.

we sure do. its a true fact everyone. much better for your ass than regular skiing. plus it makes the rest of the mountain fun. when you cant hit jumps or somethin, turning is actually fun.

ill never drop a knee for a face shot. i can tallywhack i think its cool for going uphill and touring and shit.. but it a real pain in the ass for fun sking... yes its harder and you tallywhacker can think to yourselfcs.. im the shit whlie your standing next to a monoskier who is the shit... but the reall balls is go to a ski resort on cross countery skis.

who cares if they get more faceshots, its the same amount of snow, so who gives a shit. ill respect telers if they are good, but i dont give them props for doing like sliding a box because "its so hard on teles". in my mind if a teler is good, then hes good, but i dont give them more hard because all that "teleing is harder" bullshit. ive teled before too, btw

I did both and now i have completely switched to freeheeling. Teleing is all about style, it just feels soo cool. I have met the best people teleing, the freeheel culture is awesome!

I feel as if teleskiing in bounds is ridiculous. If you use it for access to more terrain, more power to you, but if you're riding park in tele's your just making it harder than it needs to be. It like saying skiing pow on skinny skis is cooler because its harder, its not. I will respect the talent that it takes, but especially with new stiff boots and bindings for teles, its basically just sketchy alpine skiing if you ask me.

teles are sick. im still loving my heels sticking to my skis but i have nothing but respect for those who can rip on their teles

Telemarkin' is sick. I've been tele'ing for 4 years and NO, it's not too hard. A little harder than skiing, but I would define TELEMARKING: AWESOMELY FUN, SMOOTH, STYLISH, FREEDOM OF MOUVEMENT. And we can go BIG on those sticks!!!

P.S.: TELEMARK ?‚ GRANOLA

thugz

what are you talking about? telemarkers don't go slow! seriously, don't talk about stuff you obviously don't know anything about. I used to teleski for so many years and I have lots of friends who still do, and they're sick and go hella FAST. AND they throw down in the park and on rails too.
