Telemark Skiing

Kinda curious as to what all you peeps out in NS land think about tele skiing. I've never really heard much feedback from other skiers as to whether any one cares about it, hate it, or think it's really cool.

deffinately mad respect to tele skiiers... most of them are phenomenal. its much more difficult to perfect than fixed heal. i love to see them trying to hit park when its a shitty day for snow... constantly impressed by them, and they all have a real laid-back vibe... skiing, especially in the park scene has been getting a little bit too jersey for my taste

My cousin tele's and he rips, the only thing holding him back is landing switch in pow or on steep. There is physically no way for him to land with out face planting or falling backwards. but he is only 13 and is learning alot, he is really close to landing a seven.

i think its sick. Obviously it makes park a bit tricky, its just not possible to do it all on tele's. but i think that super good telemarkers are fun too watch, and its definitly a blast to do, good for bc too!

I always try to give props to telers on the mountain, but half the time they just give me weird looks like theyre thinking "Did he say something nice? Nah he must have said something like look at that weird skiier whos heels arent clipped down, god what a stupid kid"~

I love Tele skiing. So much fun for accessibility purposes. I've done it a few seasons before.

its looks kinda boring i mean people who tele must gets so bored of skiing that they do this wierd type of skiing called telemark skiing

i didn't even know it was possible to hit jump on teles this year until i saw some dude throw a 9 with teles

my dad does it and loves it.

ive picked them up a few times and its hard.

you need a lot more muscle than alpine skiing

Yea guy telemark skiing is the shit. No feeling in the world like touching your knee to the tops of your skis while ripping down a trail. Also, freestyle telemark skiing is just so badass

i've never tried it, but i'd like to. it looks really technical, respect to those who do it. i'd like to test it out on a sick powder day.

hey, im doing a cultural anthropology project on telemark skiing. i was

wondering if anyone on NS is a tele skier who lives in the

mammoth/tahoe area and would be willing to be interviewed on video, and

possibly ski for me so i can get some footage of telemark skiers.

once you master the basic technique and find how low you want to go, all thats left is developing a flow and some thunder thighs so you can tele for more than 2 days at a time

all the tele skiers at my mt ruin the corduray and the pow.

when i ski threw the fluffy its like wiping w/ used toilet paper
